Gen's Shiboritate is only available at this time of the year and you don't see it very often. I had it in the waiting room with onigiri (rice ball) since I was going out for a short trip today and did not drive.

It has a strong sweet aroma. The taste is fresh and melon-like, just as the aroma suggests. However, it is a little too sweet... It tastes sweet all the way through to the aftertaste, so there's no crispness to it. It is delicious, but personally, I would like to see a little more sourness or bitterness.

The 8th cup was "Wakatsuru," which I had often seen and was curious about. It has a light and kiwi flavor. The clean yet full-bodied rice flavor and spiciness is excellent as a mid-meal drink! The crisp, umami dryness resets the taste and makes it my favorite 👍.

Oyamanishiki grown in Nanto City, Toyama Prefecture is used. It is said to be suitable for brewing high-grade sake. This is a 3-year aged test brew. They say it is only available at directly-managed stores. It was easy to drink while being rich, and there was no cloying taste. This company has become more famous for its whisky, but their sake is also quite good.

Light sake-like aroma. It has a slight sweetness and a moderately soft rice flavor. The umami spreads later in a full-bodied manner. The moderate spiciness and weight of the alcohol is balanced by the acidity. It is moderately spicy and umami, and is a good mid-meal sake for strong flavors. 3/5 for my favorite.
