This is also a must for the muddy season, Daimine's three-grain winter arrival. This year, my usual liquor store was sold out, so I looked at the local Queen's Isetan and found it there, so I bought it! However, this was a failure...! It was a failure! I always enjoy it, but the taste was a little different? Was it because it was placed in an open-top refrigerator instead of a regular refrigerator? I have been drinking Hououmida's BLACK PHOENIX every season without fail, and Hououmida with Aizan was one I could not miss, but this season it seems very light? It was a bottle of Hououmida with Aizan, which is one of our must-have bottles. I think it is a change in the condition of the rice and the brewing process, so I am looking forward to next season!

It's been a long time since I last updated this page, and I'm exhausted from work and childcare, so I'm soaking up the sweetness of the new sake. OCEAN99 Shiraginkai Every year, I buy several bottles of Shiroginkai and wait for the next one to come out! Tasake Premium opened at a recent sake party with friends. I usually don't buy sake unless I have the chance because the price is too high, but since I had the chance, I drank it with my acquaintance! The sake is good enough to be called "Tokujun" or "Junmai Ginjo", but it was even more refreshing and free of any unwanted flavors! However, since it costs nearly 20,000 yen, it is not cosy enough to drink for yourself.

The third and fourth bottles for home drinking with sake-loving acquaintances over a three-day weekend were a comparison of Shinshu Kamerei's Kin Kame and Gin Kame. Shinshu Kamerei Kinmonishiki Junmai Daiginjo 39 This is the first time to drink Kinmonniki Junmai Daiginjo since the previous Daiginjo specs! Compared to the Miyamanishiki Gin-kame, the Kinmon-nishiki Kin-kame is a well-balanced type of sweet, tasty and acidic, and is very drinkable and enjoyable!

The third and fourth bottles for home drinking with sake-loving acquaintances over a three-day weekend were a comparison of Shinshu Kamerei's Kin Kame and Gin Kame. Shinshu Kamerei Miyamanishiki Junmai Daiginjo 39 A.k.a. Gin Kame is one of my favorite sake! The Miyamanishiki from Nagano Prefecture is polished to 39%, so it has a clean, elegant sweetness and flavor that goes down a treat! I want to buy it every time, but it's hard to buy and expensive, so I have to worry about it, but I want to drink it again!

Second bottle of sake at home with a sake-loving acquaintance over a three-day weekend. Daimine 2 grains Aizan This is an expensive bottle of Omine in a box brought by an acquaintance This bottle was also purchased around March, but perhaps because it had been sitting in the refrigerator for six months, it had a much stronger sense of maturity. The fresh Omine 3-grain Aizan has a refined acidity and sweetness like that of a Shine Muscat, but this one had a concentrated sweetness of a black grape type! Recently, Imadeya has been releasing popular varieties in their "aging" series, and it is fun to see how different they can be depending on the storage method and the type of sake!

Last week's bottle was Hououmida's Yamadanishiki 50% polished With the high cost of living these days, I have started to drink a small bottle of Hououmida! I was looking forward to this bottle of Hououmida Junmai Daiginjo because of its unbeatable price! I enjoyed its fruity aroma and mouthfeel, as well as its firm body.

September 2025, the last drink of the month is Tasake's Yamahai Junmai Ginjo. The dark green label with the word Tasake on it is my favorite shade, so I bought it immediately! It was a bottle with a good balance of sweetness, flavor, acidity, and a lingering aftertaste that I could take my time enjoying! I have to cut back on sake for a while because I have a physical exam coming up in mid-October, and it's already too late for that half a month ago..,

Here's another one I drank a while ago, from Kangiku's Toumi. Junmai Ginjo brewed with rice suitable for sake brewing is the last bottle of the OCEAN99 series! Because it is fire-aged, it has a calm taste and is delicious both on its own and with food!

Monochrome by Kangiku Meikozo This is a bottle brewed with Yamagata Prefecture's sake rice, Yamashu No. 4. Yamashu No. 4 is a cross between Yamadanishiki and Kinmonishiki. You can enjoy the freshness of unfiltered raw sake, which is typical of Kangiku, but with a little less sweetness. It was perfect for a late summer evening!

The drinks held at a recent drinking party at our house (5) Shinsei Sato Ubei A bottle brought by a junior colleague from Akita It was the first time for me to drink this rare bottle, which is almost exclusively available only to locals. It was different from Shinmasa's image of a sake with a low alcohol content, but it was very drinkable while retaining the good aroma of the traditional sake. It makes you want to drink it little by little!

The drinks held at a recent drinking party at our house (3) Jikin Nigori Sake Nama 2024 Last year, a classmate of mine gave us two bottles of Jikin Nigori Sake that he was able to get. I had never been able to buy it by myself, so I kept it in a safe place, but when my junior who loves Jigon came to my house, I opened the bottle! It was a great sake, but as the temperature went up, the rice flavor and sweetness that I love so much became more and more pronounced.
