Hello, bouken-san! I live in your neighborhood, but I completely missed out on "Tsukizazo Hi Hiyaoshi Oroshi" 😲. I'm going to do some research to see if it's still available 🏃.

After the sake competition (3) I found Kikuhime Hiyayogoshi on a server at an antenna store in the three Hokuriku prefectures, so I decided to try it. I was curious about this sake because it was a fast brewing sake, which is rare for Kikuhime, and it has a fresh quality with a short maturation period. It was fresher and sweeter than I expected. A little bitter and spicy in the second half. Would I buy it? It tasted like it. I prefer it to Kikuhime Arabashiri.

After the Bishu Competition (2) Next is Gindagawa, which I haven't seen since last year's sake competition at Harukas. As written, it is a light and dry sake with impressive acidity. It is light but has a moderate amount of umami. I wonder if the sake has been stored in the snow to increase its umami and add depth to its flavor.

After the Bishu Competition (1) We went to Yamaya next to the Bishu Competition venue, then to the Aomori Iwate Antenna Shop, and finally to KITTE, which is very close to the competition venue, as Umaisan had never been there before! As we were wandering around the KITTE area, Umaisan called out to us, and we went to the Niigata antenna store to try a tasting. I drank it without looking at the brand name and later realized it was Chiyonomitsu😅. It's fresh like a fresh sake and quite sweet! I guess it's a hiyaoroshi-style sake from the color of the label? It didn't taste like hiyaoroshi, though. Personally, I like it. Well, I had a really good Chiyonomikari before, which was also a raw Omachi 🤔.

The 3rd Bishu Competition 2025 Kansai ⑬ Heading to the Akagisan booth as promised Kurohiki Junmai Daiginjo Centrifugal Separator Pressing PREMIUM Polishing ratio 35%, special A Yamadanishiki, price 16,000 yen, I think. It was gorgeous, sweet and delicious. It was really good, but I was surprised when I heard the price 😳. Honjozo Dry Nama-Shu It's dry but not just spicy, it's light and has a slight umami flavor. Kijoshu Shoma Strong sweetness, but easy to drink with a smooth taste. With little time left, we decided to use all our tickets at the Akagisan booth. The ticket booth was also closed, so we couldn't buy tickets. I got a strap from Akagisan 😊. I ended up refilling my ticket twice and I think it was the most satisfied I've ever been at a ticketed event 🤔. Multiple booths let us drink with less tickets and one ticket allowed us to drink for 2 people! The company that makes Apaguard, which dominated the commercials with Saki Takaoka and Mikihisa Higashi, seemed to be a sponsor of the event, and when I was leaving the venue, they gave me a large amount of Apaguard to take home as much as I wanted 🤣. I guess just like alcohol, it's hard to get leftovers 🤔. That's it for the sake competition... To be continued😅

The ones I did not drink at the sake competition were Katanozakura, Kamitsuru, Tamanomitsu, Shigemasu, Sashi, Miyogiku, Sanzen, Echigo Tsurukame, Ichinokura, Biwa no Sasanami, and Echino Kanmei. I should have drunk Biwa no Sasanami and Shigemasu since they did not come to the event.

The 3rd Bishu Competition 2025 Kansai ⑫ Nishi Shuzo, famous for Tomino Hozan It's been quite a while since I've had Tenpyo 🤔. I imagined it to be a bit classic because it's Junmai, but it's fruity like other Tenpikake. Maybe it tastes more satisfying than Junmai Ginjo 🤔. It seems like this is only available in Sandesi and I've never seen it for sale 😅 I've never seen it sold anywhere else 😅 I was told it's sold at XX Sake Shop, but I told them I don't see that much Tenpiseki there. I told him that. It's not like they have it all the time😅. I talked with him for a while and he was very nice, so I promised him I would go to Akagisan later! I promised 😁.

The 3rd Bishu Competition 2025 Kansai (11) Saku's booth A sales person I had seen on the liquor store's Instagram came to the booth. A handsome brewer who often comes to events? who often comes to events. Yamada-Nishiki, 40% polished rice 5500 yen (price seems to have been raised from 4950 yen) Sweet and juicy, but beautiful and delicious 😋! I feel like every time I drink a Saku that I've never had before, it's the most delicious Saku I've ever had 🤣. The sales person was very friendly even though it's a very famous brewery!

The 3rd Bishu Competition 2025 Kansai ⑨ Niyodo River since the Kochi event at Hanshin Department Store that Nemuchi and I went to last year. Junmai Daiginjyo Haraju CEL24 Gin-no-Yume 40% rice polishing ratio Freshness like a draft sake and not too heavy, but firm and sweet 😋. Junmai Daiginjo CEL24 Gohyakumangoku 50% polished rice This is also sweet and tasty, but a little more refreshing. Junmai Daiginjo AC95 Gin-no-Yume 40% polished rice AC95 seems to be a yeast that produces aromas of apples and bananas at the same time. It is fruity, but a little drier than the others. Niyodogawa Junmai This is the same one we had last year, but after the CEL, I felt it was more sake-like. Buntan Sake I'm not used to drinking it, but the bitterness might not be my favorite. Yuzu sake It had a strong flavor and was delicious. Thank you very much for letting us drink all kinds of drinks with only a few tickets for two people! Also, I don't remember exactly, but the brewer gave me a yuzu! I guess they want to empty the opened bottle as much as possible because it's hard to bring it back 💦. They were also selling sake, so I bought some here!

The 3rd Bishu Competition 2025 Kansai 8 I don't drink much Brahma these days. There were sparkling sake and high-class sake, but I chose hiyaoroshi, which I have never had before! Delicious with just the right amount of ripeness and beautiful acidity. The fourth picture is a snack bento (🍱) created through a collaboration between a sake competition and the chef of Hotel Elsereine Osaka. All of them tasted elegant 😊.

The 3rd Bishu Competition 2025 Kansai Competition (7) Echino Yukitsubaki is often seen in supermarkets and mass merchandisers, but I was curious to see some labels I had never seen before and some high-end looking sakes. The brewer and toji-san were there! Tsuki no Tama Hibiki Junmai Daiginjo Yamadanishiki Polishing ratio 40 Fruity, sweet, beautiful and delicious! I thought it looked very expensive, but without the paulownia box, it cost about 3,000 yen, which is a very reasonable price! Junmai Daiginjo-genshu TAIICHI This sake is made with Yuzukitsubaki yeast and Omachi. Taiichi is the toji's name. Fruity, sweet, juicy, and delicious 😋. I wonder if "direct pass" means "direct pumping"? Grand Cuvee Junmai Daiginjo Genshu The sake is the same as Tamahyoki, but the bottling method is different. It tastes fresh and delicious, like a fresh sake 😋. About 5400 yen for 720ml Junmai Daiginjo Uonuma Koshihikari Polishing ratio 40%, price 11,000 yen It has a lactic acidity like Yakult, but it's sweet and delicious 🫶. I think it's a taste for different tastes😅. They put 2 people in with 1 person's ticket because it was a waste of ticket 🙏. I drank all kinds of drinks at this booth as a thank you 😋. He said he couldn't bring some of the drinks due to adult reasons.

The 3rd Bishu Competition 2025 Kansai Competition (6) Kamosho Sake Brewery, which Icoma Sake Shop also handles. After the award ceremony, the brewer came back, so we visited him. He said that he makes sake by himself and that he would like to go to the Icoma tasting, but he can't make it. He said the production was about the same as the previous year. I had a bottle of Junmai 85%, which was in stock at Icoma but I was too scared to buy it. The rice is Hyogo Sake 85%. I felt a sense of grain and various complexities. It was pretty peculiar 🫶. I wonder how it will be when heated 🤔. I wonder if the rice milling ratio is 85 on purpose to match the name of the rice? I forgot to take a picture, but I drank the Junmai Daiginjo I brought to last year's year-end party, and it was sweeter and more gassy than last year, so I thought it was getting better! They said they had to raise the price of sake brewed with the rice they bought this year to make it profitable 😿. The third photo is Mr. Ogino, the brewery's toji (master brewer).

We were told that we could compare different types of sake in different states, so we tried some! It was great that the sake we tasted was Shugetsu 😁. Tasted 4 kinds of sake: fast, rapid, slow, and refrigerated. The chilled one was the most delicious 😅. I was told that men usually say so 🙄. Mr. Umaisan said Shunsoku is delicious. I thought Shunsoku was also very good when I drank it again 😇.

The 3rd Bishu Competition 2025 Kansai ④ Sake I wanted to try at this event with Diachiku and Brooklyn kura I was curious about this brand that Nemuchi-san had tried at a Japanese sake festival before. It seems that the label has become more fashionable since the new owner took over, with an eye on export. A young man with two earrings explained about the sake to us, and we wondered if he was the brewer. Fresh, gassy, sweet and delicious. There seems to be no distributor in the Kansai region, so I sincerely hope that some of them will carry it! I told my neighbor's liquor store to go to Tokumasa Sou next time, but he said he had a connection with Sakaimachi 😅.

The 3rd Bishu Competition 2025 Kansai Competition (3) Brooklyn kura, a business and capital tie-up with Hakkaisan Mr. Hakkaisan was there! Some brewers from Hakkaisan are giving technical guidance. Junmai Daiginjo standard sake, about 4,900 yen. Yamadanishiki from Arkansas and soft water from the Catskill Mountains, which gave the sake its name, are used as brewing water. It is one of the best sake from overseas. It tastes not like wine or peculiar, but like sake, modern and acceptable to those who prefer wine. Unlike Hakkaisan, it is quite sweet. I've had Otter Blue before, but I prefer Brooklyn kura. They have two other kinds of wine besides Catskill, and now they have all kinds of wine in Niigata.

The 3rd Bishu Competition 2025 Kansai (2) Even during the award ceremony, the staff was present at the booths, so I tried Manzairaku's award-winning sake, which had just returned from the brewery, since it was set up with one ticket. I was surprised at the fruity and beautiful taste that I couldn't believe it was made with 70% polished rice! They were handing out flyers about the new label and product name. The price is about 1600 yen including tax, which is a nice cosmetic price! Mr. Rui Matsukawa and Ms. Seiko Noda were the presenters. I thought Ms. Noda liked sake and had a deep knowledge of sake, but Mr. Matsukawa talked a lot about politics💦.

The 3rd Bishu Competition 2025 Kansai (1) I went to the Bishu Competition in Osaka, where the management and judges are all women 😊. I was a little nervous because it was my first time to attend a tasting at a hotel. The venue was Hotel Elsereine Osaka! The awarding ceremony was held for an hour between the first and second parts, so it was a little bit difficult to drink during this time 😅. There was a booth with sake from breweries that were not participating in the event, so I had a drink from a brewery I didn't know. Diachiku from Nagano Prefecture. It seems they were bought by a company called Toda Shuhan in Yamanashi and changed their name to Toda Sake Brewery. Diaigiku was drunk by Lutemi before 😊. Fruity, sweet and tasty, but with a bit of bitterness. I wrote "fruity" at first, but it has a full-bodied Japanese sweetness that I like a lot! Where can I buy it?

The last of the sake purchased at the Takashimaya Sake Festival. The first half is fruity sweet and delicious, typical of Eiko-Fuji, but the second half is bitter and complex. I think it is a little less sweet than other Eiko-Fuji, and the taste is a little different from other Eiko-Fuji. Maybe because it is made with Jinriki, it has a little bit of the atmosphere of a strong sake from the Himeji area, like Ryu-ryoku or Yukihiko-zan. I think it is a very bitter sake among Eiko-Fuji.
