Purchased at the Nohmi Sake Shop, 1,920 yen. Four-part bottle. As the name "Goryoku" suggests, it tastes almost dry. Like Goryoku (strong), it tastes a bit dry to me! The alcohol content is 15-16 degrees, which I don't think is that strong.

Purchased at the Nohmi Sake Shop. I thought that 1980 yen for a four-pack was a good price, but the owner said, "We have repeat customers for this sake. After I paid, the owner said something strange. He said it was "other brewed sake. According to this website, it is a craft sake. The ingredients list includes not only rice but also germinated brown rice, and to my surprise, there is no information on the ratio of polished rice. I was wondering why the front label says, "We dare not polish the rice"! Immediately after opening the bottle, I could feel the kemuri (a kind of a puff of smoke) coming from the bottle. This strange sake has a great balance of acidity. It is refreshing and delicious! It is quite a taste! I can recommend it!

A gift of sake. Makabe is a town in Sakuragawa City, Ibaraki Prefecture. Ibaraki Prefecture is a sake made from rice and koji from Chikusei City. It has a rich flavor, perhaps due to its high alcohol content of 16%.

Fukushima Prefecture's second sake. Jinya Fukunoka Junmai Dry Sake from Shirakawa City, where I used to live. Perhaps because it contains carbon dioxide gas, you can hear the gas escaping every time you open the bottle. It is full-bodied, heavy and dry. It is literally dry! I was happy to finally get a sake from Aruga Shuzo!

One of two bottles I purchased when I visited Fukushima City. I think it was about 1,500 yen for a four-pack. I chose this sake because it is a brewed sake originating from Fukushima City. The taste is rich and dry. The dry taste becomes a bit bitter as you drink it (I am not a fan of dry sake). It was delicious.

This sake was given to me as a gift. It is now 2024, but it is 22 years old. I was worried about its deterioration, but I could drink it without any problems. It is nigori sake, but the taste is dry and there is no fizziness.

At Yamaneya Ryokan in Tsuchiyu Onsen. First sake in about a month. One and a half cups of 300ml. The taste is dry. It is easier to drink when it is cooled down, because you can taste the rough taste when the temperature rises. Since I couldn't finish it at the meal, I had it as a sparkling sake by mixing it with Sprite in the room.

Purchased at Kasumi. I think this is the first time I've had sake from Yamanashi Prefecture. I expected it to be dry because of its lightness, but after letting it sit in the fridge for an hour or so, I drank it and found it to be a sweet sake, no, no, no, no. I chilled it in the refrigerator before drinking. At the tip of the mouth, there is a fruity, no, but sweetness mixed with some miscellaneous tastes. Then, at the back of it, a dry taste appears. It is a delicious sake when drunk cold!

It is not a refreshing, crisp type, but rather a combination of a refreshing and a full-bodied one, with a higher weight on the full-bodied side for me personally. It's not spicy, but as the label says, it's a medium-bodied sake! It might be better to drink it at room temperature, so let's leave it at room temperature.

Iwaki Kotobuki unfiltered barrel-aged sake purchased at a nearby York-Benimaru when I dropped by my parents' house in Iwaki City. Unfiltered sake = high alcohol content = dry taste. I usually don't like dry sake, so I don't choose it. But this time, I put it in my basket without hesitation because it was "Banjo Kotobuki". The taste was It was not as spicy as I thought it would be, and it had a slightly fizzy taste. I drank it on an empty stomach, so it was good but easy to turn. That's no wonder the alcohol content is so high at 19 degrees Celsius. Personally, I find it easy to drink, so I have to be careful not to drink too much.

Purchased at the Hitachi City Industrial Festival in November 2011. Junmai Ginjo-shu, 50% polished. I was actually going to buy the sake from the Hitachi City newsletter, but after comparing the two, I found the "Kiku no Aroma" easy to drink and tasty. It was pricey at 2,000 yen for a four-pack, but it was delicious with a fruity flavor and no cloying taste. I opened it just in time for the New Year!

Purchased at Osonoe Sake Shop, 1400 yen for a four-pack. I had it with some yellowtail and whale sashimi that I bought at a festival at a roadside station. I was worried about whether the sake would go well with the sashimi, since my motive at the time of purchase was that it was a fruity sake, but that was a rare occurrence. As the temperature rose, the sake's distinctive sweetness became more pronounced. It was so easy to drink that I lost half of my bottle in one day. It is a very troublesome sake (laugh).

Purchased at Sake no Yamaya. The price was 968 yen for a four-pack. I can't believe you can buy a four-pack of Junmai Daiginjo for about 1,000 yen. The unique sweet taste of sake is followed by a dry taste. The alcohol content is 14%, so the dryness becomes more noticeable than the sweetness as you continue drinking.

Purchased at Pal System, 980 yen for a four-pack. I was surprised that sake with 45% polished rice could be purchased for less than 1000 yen...so I bought it. Fruity and sweet with a slight bitterness. It is very easy to drink. Of course, I drank it chilled, but as the temperature rises, it becomes richer. It was a delicious enough sake!

While buying beer at Sake-no-Yamaya, I took a look in the sake section and found a unique sake in a rice bag for 550 yen for a four-pack, so I had to buy it. The summer of 2023 is very hot! Cold beer goes well with every day. This issue of Hitachi City's city newsletter is a special feature on local sake. Reading this makes me miss sake (lol). Okeide, Sake degree +3. It has a heavy, weighty flavor with a hint of dryness, followed by a slight sweetness. Overall, it's a heavy, heavy taste!
