This is the annual Morohaku from Shiina Sake Brewery. The first bottle was actually opened last week on a trip with a customer 🤣I was too tongue-tied to review it🤣it was delicious ‼️ It was delicious and had a nice active effervescence...but today's second bottle is a little less effervescent and a little more sweet! The second bottle today was a bit more fizzy, but the sweetness of the malt was nice 🙌It's a sake that doesn't disappoint every year 👍Great 😆.
Tomikushin's Active Nigori to be drunk again this year
I drink a lot of nigori sake this time of year, but for some reason, local nigori sake makes me unusually excited.
Mixing and drinking while removing the air.
When pouring it into a glass, the occasional solid particles fall out, which makes me even more excited!
Fresh, creamy, yogurt, sloppy
And yet it's easy to drink with a refreshing aftertaste.
I think it's less sweet and more refreshing this year.
All I have tonight is persimmon peas and sea chicken, but that's good enough for me.
The only drawback is that we only have one bottle, but we'll enjoy it in smaller portions.
The name "Morohaku" is a seasonal Moromi plenty of "Tomikushin" available only in the northern region of Ibaraki Prefecture.
It has a crisp, active nigori origin and a dry sweetness that leaves a refreshing aftertaste.
We were lucky to be able to purchase it outside of the northern Ibaraki area🍀.
Easy to drink despite its relatively yellow color!
Thinner than Watanohu. But the one with sweetness and sourness that makes it easy to gulp down. This one is good, too.
The one you end up drinking too much of... The best two!
At SAKE MEETING 2025 Autumn
This was quite a tasty sake!
Sorry for the long, continuous post: 🙇♂️
I would like to go to a SAKE MEETING again if I have the chance!
Homecoming Series 13
Hitachi City, Ibaraki Prefecture is home to Shiina Sake Brewery's Fukushin. It is a pure Ibaraki local sake made from 100% Hitanishiki produced in the prefecture!
The specs are a special junmai sake with a rice polishing ratio of 55%.
While the aroma is subdued, the taste is a robust sake that hits the right notes of rice!
The aroma has nuances of young melon and white bean flour, the acidity is not strong, and the taste is easy to drink with a medium attack and a slightly long finish.
For my taste, it is my favorite type.
It is too hot to warm up today, but I will add my comments on heated sake later.
