I've had Morishima before.
I've never had Fuji Taikan before. ❗️
As it says on the label
Melon🍈 type fruity aroma and moderate sweetness❗️
It's fresh like a new sake.
Fresh, gassy and crisp.
It's good 👍
Not so much dry.
It's not so dry, but it's very refreshing and easy to drink 😊.
It's the type of sake that goes well with food.
It's delicious. ‼️
The first new sake of the year is Fuji Taikan from Hitachi City, Ibaraki Prefecture, another brand of Morishima Shuzo, whose Morishima is very popular these days.
It has a melon-like greenish sweetness and a refreshing taste typical of new sake. The latter half of the taste is dry and moderately dry. It is a delicious contrast to the mellow autumn sake. We can expect more new sake to come out in the future.
At first, I felt freshness, sweetness, and umami, and it was not dry. As I drank more, the unique and complex flavor of Morishima's sake started to emerge, and that flavor stood out, making it perfect for drinking and very tasty! Thank you very much for the sake 😄.
Fuji Taikan Junmai Yamadanishiki Hatsushiboriguchi Dry Nama-Shu 720ml
Rice used: 100% Yamadanishiki
Rice polishing ratio 65
Alcohol 15%.
The first Shiboribori of the year! It's in stock now!
I had no choice but to drop by on my way home 😄.
I opened the bottle as soon as I got home.
It was fresh and slightly fruity. The first one is delicious 😋.
It is said to be dry, but it is not as dry as it sounds.
By the way, this liquor store carries Shiga Kogen beer, so I asked them to include NEW ENGI, but they simply refused, saying they only have one brewery of Shinshu sake 😭 No choice, I'll take you to Shinshu 😄.
I got it at my part time job and enjoyed it so much that I bought it myself.
The clean aroma foreshadows a slight fruity flavor.
In the mouth, it is crisp and muscat-like, with a sharp, yet umami taste of rice.
There is also a slightly pungent spiciness that lingers in the nose.
The lingering finish is slightly long and slightly bitter, but not unpleasant.
It goes well with shime saba (mackerel), which was cheap because it was close to its expiration date! LOL!
Morishima is delicious, and so is this one that the great sake master Yokoyama Taikan said he could name it after him!
