I bought this Kouei Kiku on Sunday. I think I shook it too much when I brought it home and the bottle popped when I opened it💦.
I have had it before and it was as good as ever. It is a 100% Kame-no-o type. The sake rice seems to be different from the previous one...but I can't tell the difference.
Today we are having a drink at a friend's house for the first time in a while. My friend brought a bottle of Nabeshima Special Junmai! I was told it had a slight sparkle...but I couldn't detect any sparkle. It was slightly sweet and easy to drink! It was delicious 😋.
My favorite Koei Chrysanthemum Snow Crescent. The cork blew out when I opened the bottle, probably because it was shaken when I bought it back home.
It was a waste of overflowing 💦 The taste is consistent and delicious.
I bought a bottle of Shinsei Ash in the summer. I opened a bottle because it was Christmas Eve🎄. As usual, I drank it after the champagne...so I don't remember anything except that it was delicious.... What a waste. The picture is of an empty bottle too 💦.
A friend of mine who lives in Niigata came to stay and gave me this sake as a gift. it was the fourth bottle I opened, so I don't remember much at all, but it was sweet, easy to drink, and delicious. I understand it's a hard-to-find sake that once won a gold medal at the National Sake Competition! I'm so glad I got it 💦.
I have always wondered about the name, rice and agave, and this is the first time I've tried it. I was told that because it contains agave syrup, it is not called sake, but is treated as other brewed sake.
I didn't really feel like it was made with syrup, and it tasted just fine.
It tasted like cemedine when I first opened the bottle, but I think it has mellowed over time. I bought a bottle of Koei Kiku because it's so good, but there's only a little left 💦 Great for lunchtime drinking 🥰.
I bought a bottle of Oyama Sparkling, a local sake, because it won the Gold medal in the IWC 2022 SAKE category for Sparkling. It was rich, juicy and delicious.
