Tsuru-no Tomo, a.k.a. Tsurutomo, rumored to be a favorite of local "nobeyas
It is said that this brand is not available outside of the prefecture.
The taste is typical of Niigata, with a heavy aroma and flavor that you would expect to find at local festivals.

I was having a drink at the restaurant when I saw a customer who came in because he saw this from outside. He drank it because he said he couldn't stand it, so I got in on the fun.
Unlike the dry, light sake often found in Niigata, the taste of rice lingers in the bottle...just as the customer said. It was very easy to drink, with a full rice flavor and no lingering alcohol taste at all.
I later tried it hot, and the smooth aftertaste and delicious rice flavor were wonderful.
Participated in Iwamuro Rock today!
An outdoor music festival held in Iwamuro Onsen in the fall. A hot rock event featuring artists from inside and outside of the prefecture, and held at multiple venues. It was a day of fun ✨soaked in great music. There was a brief flicker of rain, but I'm glad the weather held out.
Unfortunately, the party was held alone at home.
I bought a bottle of Tsuru no Tomo, Junmai!
You can only buy this Tsuru no Tomo Junmai Shugobin at certain stores. It is not always available there either, depending on the timing, so I waited for it to arrive and bought it.

It is delicious.
It is very tasty and reasonably priced, and a bottle of sake will soon cost less than 3,000 yen.
I wonder if the season of edamame will be over soon. They were delicious this year, too. I am looking forward to the next taste of autumn.

Tsuru no Tomo Junmai, cold and warmed sake comparison. The clear, refreshing taste of cold sake becomes more pronounced when heated. The sweetness comes after drinking.
The last of the three Niigata sakes in a row is the first Tsuru no Tomo. It has a clear, crisp, sweet flavor with a nice sharpness. Despite the simple label, it is the sweetest of the three and tastes more modern.
Not only is it spicy, but the aroma that leaves after enjoying the flavor on the tongue is light and unctuous.
I had it with tuna, salmon, and yellowtail sashimi. They go well together!
