Mansaku no Hana Umakara Mansaku Hi Hiyoshi Oroshi. This is another seasonal autumn sake. I really can't get enough of mansaku no hana. It is delicious. The quiet umami spreads out with a slight roughness. It is the first sake that is fun to drink.

Today we came to Fujiki Shoten in Shinjuku for the first time in a while. As a matter of course, we started with the premium all-you-can-drink sake.
The first one was Amabuki Junmai, Junmai in love with autumn. It has a pumpkin label for Halloween, and of course, it is autumn-aged. It has a nice umami, acidity, and a hint of bitterness that spreads slowly.

The last order came and so did the last sake. Kaisen Special Junmai from Fussa, Tokyo. It is a good sake to drink slowly, with a rich flavor, but not too strong.
The fact that they chose Kaisen instead of Sawanoi shows that they know what they're doing.

Fujiki Shoten, if you have sake from all 47 prefectures, you might be wondering what Niigata Prefecture's Poshake is, but the one on the permanent menu is Hokusetsu Junmai Ginjo. They know what they are doing, don't they? It is a Niigata Prefecture sake from a brewery located on Sadogashima Island, and while it is refreshing, it has a slightly salty and clear taste. The alcohol taste also comes slowly. It is a good sake.

It has been about an hour since I started drinking. Next, a change of direction: Hirotogawa Special Junmai from Fukushima Prefecture. It has a strong umami flavor and is thick. The full-bodiedness of this sake is indeed a classic sake. However, it is light and easy to drink.

The second cup was Eikoufuji Kazehada Dry Junmai Sake. Eiko Fuji is known for its aromatic, refreshingly sweet and delicious sake, but this sake was even more refreshing. The spiciness comes to the fore rather than the umami and sweetness, and the sharpness is very good. It has a refreshing coolness that is just right for summer drinking.

Today we are having dinner at Fujiki Shoten in Shinjuku Nishiguchi.
I was looking in the fridge to see what to have for my first drink, and I found a bottle of Koryu Shu Unfiltered. I can't believe this guy is here, it's not an all-you-can-drink sake. It has a penetrating flavor, a light taste, and a slight astringency coming from the back. It is a rich sake.
And as usual, the kanji characters don't show up in the conversion.
