I bought this bottle because of its unusual appearance.
The label on the back of the bottle reads, "Pair it with rosé." I thought it must be fruity and slightly sweet, but when I drank it, I was surprised to find that it was dry and very much like an old man's sake. I thought it would be fruity and slightly sweet, but it was surprisingly dry, just like an old man's sake.
I also thought "lady" was spelled differently. I thought "Lady" was the old spelling of "lady".
I have learned one more thing.
Pleasantly surprised and happy. Our cook served us this nihonshu on the house, next to my umeshu drink @ Ferment, Copenhagen. The nihonshu itself is very mild and invitin, without being ever boring. You can't taste the alcohol, but you can taste the rice. I could serve it for both beginners and japanophiles among my friends.
Rose Yeast. Peachy color with rose and cherry blossom aromas. Light bodied and relatively light in flavor. The finish was short. Not a lot of memorable points.
Pairing: tuna midsection, grilled chicken wings
Score: 88/100
