This is the first shot to open my mouth on New Year's Eve!
It's Amabuki... I heard that it can be heated or chilled at a liquor store, and this is it... seriously?
Anyway, I'll have it cold!
The aroma is already strawberry! So much strawberry!
The taste is mainly sourness... the aroma of strawberry comes in a flash, then sourness, and later a little sweetness with a strawberry taste.
And the alcohol content is 16%, so you feel like you've had a drink.
As the temperature rises, the sweetness becomes a little stronger, and the strawberry taste increases.
I think I'll try heating it up later!
Amabuki by Amabuki Sake Brewery. Purchased at Combox Saga Ekimae. Most of Saga's sake is either dry or medium-hard, but I bought this one because of the unusual note "Nakaguchi" (medium). It is indeed crisp and easy to drink, but has a gentle taste with a strong rice flavor.
They have lowered the alcohol content, down to 14 degrees, which makes it light and easy to drink!
The acidity has a softness reminiscent of fruity apples, and the balance, which is neither too strong nor too weak, feels like a white wine. It is easy to match with a wide variety of dishes including Japanese, Western, Chinese, and Italian cuisine, and the finish does not tire easily even if glasses are stacked.
My brother-in-law served it to us at yesterday's party. We happily compared the fresh Mansaku-no-Hana Shizuku-shu, this Nakakumi, and Akabu. The rice is Aizan with a 40% white ratio and the yeast used is Abelia (flower yeast). There are different types of flower yeast, so I would like to try them in the future!
Thank you ma-ki-san. This is my brother-in-law who gave me a bottle of sake for my 500th brand. It was easy to arrange the schedule as it was within walking distance and we had a pleasant time. Shizuku-shu and nama-shu are great this time of year. 😊
At Hi and Yoi. This is my first visit to Suwa Gokura with a reservation while basking in the afterglow of the Suwa Gokura Machiaruki drinking tour. This is the last one. It's been a long time since I've seen a sake made with flower yeast. I want to drink it again.
I've been curious about banana🍌 for a long time... but when I had a chance to try it this time... well... the banana🍌 aroma and taste... surprised me... it's very well made 😱It's not a food wine🍶, I think it would go well with cake or sweets....
