Banana flavor. That's what you might think if you were told it was wine. But it is in the sake category. It was sweet, had a dessert feel, and was delicious after dinner.
This was the only one available on the Shinkansen train. It has been a long time since I drank it. I don't remember it being this sweet. I enjoyed it as an afternoon snack, though.
Here it is today. Rather than being rich and mellow, this daiginjo is impressive for its lightness and cleanness. It is not sweet, so it is a good accompaniment to a meal.
Second bottle of the day. This one has a sweetness of rice that comes out first, followed by some acidity. The person I drank it with said it had a flower garden in the back of his head.
Second bottle of the day. The sweetness of this one came out ahead. The meal was almost complete, and the dried firefly squid was our accompaniment. It was a gift from Yamabushi-sama.
