The Pacific Ocean with a view of the Pacific Ocean
With sama sushi bought at a supermarket near Shingu Station...
They go well together.
Sushi is a refreshing contrast to sake, which is very strong when you drink it.
The combination of local sake, local snacks, and local scenery is the best!
Sake purchased on a trip to Kumano.
Cold
The color is dark, but the mouthfeel is watery. However, the umami flavor rises softly afterwards.
Heated
This sake won the gold medal in the premium heated category at the National Heated Sake Contest 2024, so we tried heating it up at home, even though it's a pain.
Slightly hotter than human skin. Mellow on the palate, with a brown sugar-like aroma. The brown sugar aroma is a bit pungent, but not in a bad way; it enhances the umami. The aftertaste is slightly bitter, but the assertion of bitterness is moderate.
I love the sake of this vast name
The brilliant sun, the base! The great ocean, the Pacific Ocean!
I love this sake that reminds me of the Kuroshio Current
There is a Lawson in the Hotel Urashima, where it is sold in a refrigerator. There is also a room temperature version. I bought it from the refrigerator.
It has a soft, sweet taste and a full-bodied flavor. The aftertaste is clean and the flavor remains well, giving it a high sake-like quality.
I was told that this brand is not often sold outside of the prefecture, so I was eager to try it on this trip.
I drank this sake in Wakayama when I visited there on a trip.
It was my first time to drink it, and I thought it was suitable for daily drinking as a food sake with a refreshing taste.
I drank it while eating, so I drank a little too much 😅.
The last sake of the Nanki trip. We had this sake on the express train to Shirahama. This sake has a strong sweetness, but is sharp and easy to drink. It goes well with local fish and whale dishes.
The only sake brewery in Nanki is the Ozaki Sake Brewery in Shingu City, and for better or worse, all the brands in Katsuura and Kushimoto are from the Ozaki Sake Brewery.
This was a good way to enjoy a variety of brands from the same brewery.
