Whenever I return to Shizuoka, I always enjoy a stable, hot Haginishiki. Haginishiki is a niche sake that has been served in limited izakaya (Japanese style pubs) in Shizuoka since before World War II. There are many delicious sakes in Japan, but this is the one that never fails to bring me back here, even if it is a long way from home. I am grateful to have encountered it.
