The usual Kamotsuru. It has a strong umami flavor and a dark dry taste. Delicious and perfect for grilled fish, simmered dishes, vinegared dishes, and Japanese side dishes.
Sake given to me by a friend. It is firm and dry. It has a clear yet aromatic and rich flavor.
It goes well with simmered dishes, grilled fish, and just about anything else. I'll drink it cold today, but next time I'll try it warmed.
Purchased at a local drugstore. It is less fruity than Daiginjyo, but more mild and dark than usual Hakutsuru. It wasn't chilled, so next time I'll drink it with a nice kick. ⛄️
I will drink it chilled at a later date. It has a good balance of sweetness, spiciness, and umami, and tastes light and refreshing.
I don't feel the fruity taste, but it goes well with Japanese food.
Purchased at the Kamome Market at Nagasaki Station.
Dark and dry. Not much sweetness, but a good flavor. A little sourness. Delicious and goes well with Japanese food.
Synthetic Sake
Manufacturer Godo Shusei Co.
Onoen Group
Originating in Asahikawa, Hokkaido, the company's current headquarters is in Tokyo. The manufacturer's address is listed as Matsudo City, Chiba Prefecture.
It is used as a cooking sake because it is a bargain, but I gave it a try. It is dry, refreshing, light, and has a hint of sweetness. Surprisingly tasty.
Purchased at a local liquor discount. Dry. The taste is clean, but the mouthfeel is strong because it is a pure sake.
When I paired it with a simple Japanese meal, the sake was too strong. I think it should be enjoyed without snacks.
Later on, I will drink it with octopus balls and sips. It was dry, with umami and depth. It was very tasty.
