Skiing techniques were first introduced to Japan in earnest in Niigata Prefecture! In 1911, an Austrian officer, Major Lerch, introduced the technique to local soldiers as part of their wintering military training.
This sake was originally called "Koshiyama Masamune" but was renamed "Ski Masamune" in the Showa era.
