I think it was a clear and dry sake that goes well with food 🤔.
Continued reunion with old customers
Next, there was a spring sake corner, so I tried one I hadn't had yet...
Hoyo, Haru Nagomi
What a nice name and label.
It was a little sweet, with a hint of sourness.
We had a good conversation after a long time, but my notes on the sake were not very good.
It's been a little while, but the first sake to be squeezed, "Hoyo".
Fresh banana aroma.
First of all, it has a smooth mouthfeel and a full-bodied sweetness. The acidity is not noticeable, but the rich umami persists and lingers for a long time.
It seems to be good with strong dishes.
The label is 3D if you look at it with red/green glasses.
Clear and colorless, with aromas of yogurt, cooked rice, pear, and honeysuckle. The attack is rather strong, with a firm acidity, moderate sweetness and a rather long finish.
Hoyo Shiboritate
Newly brewed sake from Miyagi Prefecture's oldest brewery, established in 1661.
Slightly spicy with the freshness of freshly squeezed sake.
At 1,210 yen, it's a great value for money and can be enjoyed with food.
A bottle given to me by my predecessor, who recently reached retirement age.
He said it was a thank-you for the 3 kg of new rice he delivered every year during his tenure, which he called a "taste test.
Rice has become sake!
The nose has a fruity ginjo aroma, but the fragrance is subdued.
The mouthfeel has a gentle, round sweetness and a satisfying umami. The fruity feeling that passes through the nose and the mild acid bitterness that comes at the end disappear slowly and gently.
I had an image that Houyo was not my favorite, but this is good! I can say that when it comes to high-class wines, this one is genuinely tasty.
Thank you very much for the sake!
