After that, we stopped by Shimizu-ya in Saku one last time to finish our shopping! Then we left Nagano and strolled around Matsuida in Gunma Prefecture, where Jay used to work 🚙 but the town was completely rusted out 😢 the stores we knew were gone... The only sign of a snack shop that was left! I wonder if they are still in business?
Sentimental, I decided to head home, but then I spotted a sign that said "Roadside Station Myogi"! There was a roadside station on the way up the mountain road! There, "Momiji-jiru" (maple leaf soup) was being served free of charge👍It was warming and delicious as it was chilly and raining 😋.
Now for the sake! We got this for the first time at Shimizuya 🤗.

The aroma has an apple type feel to it 😌.
It's a low alcohol (13%), but it's unfiltered and has a solid core of apple flavor that makes it very comfortable to drink. ‼️
The sweet and sourness becomes more and more pronounced and you can drink it comfortably.
It is a bottle that you can drink comfortably.
The third picture was taken at a small park next to Kiyomizuya because I realized I didn't take a picture of the autumn leaves 🍁.

All-you-can-drink buffet at the inn! Beer, wine, shochu, sake, and a bottle of Keiryu 🍶 but on this day, we had beer followed by red and white wine 😋.
An old man at another table with a big family poured a glass full of Keiryu into a cup instead of a cup 😅I can't tell you how many times we went back and forth 😅It was a quintessential Showa style drinking 🍶.
The lighting in the hotel was dark and the lights were turned off at 9pm. Maybe the management has changed and they have cut costs 🧐.
We went to bed early without turning on the TV 🛌.
I woke up and looked at the clock to see that I hadn't slept well in a long time 🥱 and it was 11:00 ⏰If I was younger, I would have said, "Oh no, I overslept ‼️" but it was actually 11:00 at night 😆 and it was still today😓and from there I slept every hour and got up and repeated every hour until morning arrived!
I miss my younger days when I could sleep as long as I wanted 😢.
And that's why I'm drinking Nagano sake!
As J&N readers with good memories may know, I made a mistake 🫢 and drank Toyoka-san, and ever since then I've been looking for the "賀" one, Toyoka-san. ‼️ I'm so excited to have found it 🥹.

We were attracted by the pop-up saying "Shimizuya, the president of Shimizuya, recently drank the No.1 wine" and took it with us.
It has a deep flavor that is hard to believe it is 13%, and the moderate acidity is perfect for the hot summer.
My friends gave it high marks. It is fun to encounter such a delicious sake.

I went to buy sake only for myself from the inn. The rice fields around here are beautifully tended. The underground water is also delicious and I thought there is a reason why the sake is so good. Tsuchiya Sake Brewery will be my next stop 😊. 猫punchS〆MSlightly chili, with a melon-like muscat peel aroma and a firm rice sweetness deliciousness juicy with a lingering string of bitterness that disappeared 😆 I love Yamasan too and have become a fan 😋🫶.

Yamada Nishiki looks delicious too 🤤. 猫punchS〆MI like Aizan 😆 I would like to try it 😍This is my second bottle of Yamazan with Yamae-nishiki, but I felt that Yamada-nishiki is more balanced and drinkable with a beautiful mouthfeel. I was surprised to find such a brewery in Ueda city 🫢. 猫punchS〆MIt has a muscat-like aroma, sweet flavor and bitterness that spreads and finishes with a kick. It was a very delicious sake that could be enjoyed alone or with a meal 😊.

It was not available at the Saku-no-Hana Sake Brewery store, so I went to a nearby store.
We bought it at the nearby Sakeho-Shimizuya Sakuhira store ☺️ which has a large selection of Nagano's local sake and a very nice atmosphere 💕We hope to go there again 🥰.
