I have been drinking 寫楽 since I went to Fukushima Prefecture. This was one of the bottles recommended by my wife after she expressed her preference at a liquor store on a business trip. 寫楽 junmai ginjo hatsushibori-¥2,192-. It may be an exaggeration to say that it has a sweet aroma like a banana, but it has just a hint of banana. Sweetness, egginess, bitterness, and acidity. The taste changes depending on the temperature, and for me, there is a temperature range where the sake tastes good when it is cooled down to room temperature. I would like to try this sake again if I can come across it again.

Masumi no Ara Shibori, purchased at Tsuruya. The price was ¥1,745-. My wife's sister and her husband came from Setagaya for the annual New Year's party at our house. We started with beer, then moved on to whiskey, shochu, and sake. The sake was so-so, fruity, moderately sweet, slightly acidic, astringent, and bitter. It was delicious.

The first sake continues. Purchased at Japan Meat Yoshioka store ¥1,298-. Asakai, Junmai Harazake Aki-agari Umakoi As soon as the sake is poured into the cup, a fresh and fruity aroma wafts through the air. The refreshing sweetness, acidity, and slight bitterness do not betray the impression given by the aroma. It is a sake that I would like to have again if I ever come across it again.

I picked up this sake by chance without any prior information. Purchase price: 1,537 yen The aroma is of rice. Astringency, bitterness, acidity, and sweetness are similar to those of white wine. It went well with a bread sandwich called "Jamon Serrano" made with Camembert cheese and prosciutto ham from my favorite bakery. On the second day, the aroma and taste changed drastically, with a fruity aroma and a sweetness that was more in the foreground. The astringency was dramatically reduced and almost nonexistent, with acidity and a slight bitterness. This may be the first time I have had such a change. This is an encounter that I am considering a repeat purchase.

It's been a super long time since I've had a Junmai Ginjo Hiyoroshi from Kikusui Shuzo. I have the impression that I used to buy this sake in the fall and winter when I first started getting into sake. Now that I have tasted a variety of sake, it has fallen somewhat out of my range of preference. Of course, it is tasty, but it has no aroma, no umami or richness as the indicator suggests, and the feeling of alcohol stands out and it seems to be sharp or dry. On the second day, it may be deterioration, but overall it is milder.

It's been a very long time since I've had a bottle of K Katsuragawa from the very local Yanagisawa Brewery. I happened to drop by Fressey (a local supermarket) and found a limited edition label. The "su" design in the Jomo karuta card game, familiar to Gunma residents, depicts Mount Akagi, our mountain. Akagi, our mountain, is depicted on the label. It is an easy-drinking sake with a good balance of sweetness and acidity. Fressey also had a limited edition of 36 bottles with a different label, but since they were the same sake, we decided to go with this one, which was cheaper. The second day was also delicious.

Purchased at a business supermarket I hadn't been to in a while. The price was ¥1,375-. Endo Shuzo is famous for Keiryu (mountain stream), and I thought that a brand with the brewery's name on it must be delicious. The aroma is not so strong, but the sweet aroma is very promising. The first sip had sweetness, a slight bitterness, and a very slight acidity. It was a delightful bottle for my wife and I. Repeat purchase confirmed👍

Gekkeikan Josen is a standard sake. Food critic and cooking instructor, Mr. Yukio Hattori, who passed away on October 4, mentioned Gekkeikan Josen as one of his three sake selections on his radio program before his death. He said that Gekkeikan Josen is a sake that goes well with all kinds of food without being overbearing and is very reasonably priced. It is certainly an easy price to buy. This time, I bought a trial size 300 ml bottle. There is nothing special about this sake, which may be its main feature. That may be why it is a sake that goes well with any kind of food.

We tried Daiginjo Homare a while ago with the white label, and this time we tried the black label. It was described as having a banana-like aroma, but my wife and I did not detect any banana. The price is low for a Daiginjo, so we did not have high expectations, but I guess it was worth the price.

My wife wanted to buy this sake. The purchase was made at Japan Meat, which is attached to the Joy Hong Park Yoshioka store. The price was 1,978 yen. When the bottle is opened, it has a sweet rice aroma. It has a strong, dark, flavorless taste with a complex combination of sweetness, slight bitterness, and a very slight sourness, giving it a delicious depth. It is a candidate for repeat purchase. Here are my impressions on the second day. The first glass, the impression was a little milder than right after the bottle was opened. It is still as delicious as ever. The second glass has a sweetness that somehow reminds me of strawberries, perhaps due to a slight rise in temperature.

I kind of bought it. It was a disaster for my wife and I😅. It's like a diluted acerola type juice. On the second day, the acidity was slightly reduced. It's like thin shiso juice. Homemade shiso juice is better 😅

It's been a super long time since I've seen Kikusui. And I bought it because it was the first time I saw it in a package. I bought it at Mega Don Quijote for 327 yen. Junmai-shu, raw and unpasteurized. No brewer's alcohol added and 17.5 degrees. I opened the bottle with high expectations! The aroma is somewhat peachy, with a hint of sweetness that is also peachy. There was a very slight astringency and bitterness. When we drank it, it was so light that we didn't feel it was 17.5 degrees Celsius.

It has been a long time since I last visited the famous Akagi Sake. This is another sake from the Sei Shuzo brewery, but this time under the "Akagi no Megumi" brand recommended by Maebashi City. I think I like "Meibo Akagi" better than "Kantou no Hana" of the same Sei Shuzo brewery. It is available at the nearby "Kaze Line Fujimi" for ¥1,540- (tax included). The aroma, sweetness and gassiness are stronger than Kanto-no-Hana. Sourness is less than that of Kanto-no-Hana. It has a very slight bitterness. I have already repeated it many times, and I like it. It tastes good on the second day, but deterioration is undeniable. To put it better, it becomes more mild and angular. The gasiness is comparable to that immediately after opening the bottle.

From our favorite sake brewer, Sei Shuzo Kantou no Hana" Junmai Ginjo directly bottled. It is a new sake. It has a different round sticker than the regular version. It is available for purchase at the direct sales shop attached to the Sei Shuzo Brewery for ¥1,600- (tax included). The aroma is fresh and pear-like. Sweetness, acidity, slight bitterness, and a slight gasiness. It is a favorite of my wife and I. It is a favorite of my wife and I.

Purchased at Mega Don Quijote. Price: ¥1,408-. We were attracted by the fact that it was made with wine yeast, and also that it has a Sake strength of minus 23, which is perfect for wine lovers like us. We thought it would be perfect for us wine lovers. It smells like wine, tastes like white wine with acidity and elegant sweetness, and has a slight bitterness. It has a very slight bitterness. I picked up Momogawa again by chance, but without any preconceptions, I picked it up intuitively and found it to be Momogawa again, just like the other day. This one will definitely be a repeat customer. Postscript On the second day, the sweetness increased and the acidity became milder. For some reason, it also had a Chardonnay-like flavor.

Purchased at Joy Hong Park Yoshioka store. ¥928-. I bought this sake because it has a sake degree of minus 6. When I opened the bottle, there was no aroma, so I wondered what it would be like. I drank only a small amount of the supernatant at the first sip. It was clear, but had a rich and mellow sweetness from the rice. The alcohol content was 15%, but I felt it was stronger than that. In the second glass, I shook it well and mixed the lees well. The texture was thick like drinking yogurt. The flavor was even richer and fuller. It was a very "Torouma" taste. Postscript On the second day, the aroma and sweetness increased.
