I usually buy Midorikawa's regular sake in a 1.75 liter bottle, but this time I got the Junmaishu in a 4.5 liter bottle. In terms of ease of drinking, the regular sake is easier to drink (be careful not to drink too much of it), but I realised now that the Junmaishu is easier to enjoy at a slower pace. It's light and dry and goes well with just about any kind of food. It was cold this time, so I plan to have it warmed next time.

A gift from a neighbor. This is a Daiginjo made from Toyama Oyamanishiki. Please drink it cold in the chilly outdoor. It has a nice aroma and a refreshing taste. It goes well with tuna tsukudani, a Shizuoka souvenir. This one is also empty in no time.

Midorikawa is a great place to enjoy heated sake in winter. It's a great way to enjoy a warmed cup of sake in the afternoon. The aroma of the rice and its mild sweetness makes for a mildly intoxicating experience. We had a whole bottle of this drink before we even had a chance to finish it. Purchased from: Kitahan Brewery Co.

Due to our carelessness, it spilled a little when we opened the bottle (tears). The taste is smooth and easy to drink. The first taste of sweetness is sweet, but a tangy sourness awaits. Purchased from: Masuda Jinbei

This is the second of three different types of Zao sent to me by a friend. It's a daiginjo in a single-serving bottle, so I had the first one cold (although the room temperature is as cold as the vegetable room in the fridge) and the second one hot. It has a sweet aroma and taste. Warmed up, it has a lingering aroma on the nose and settles down as it cools. It's a drink that should be served cold, in my opinion.

Ordered from Murakami City. It is the first Tsuru-age freshly squeezed. It is also made from Koshi Tanrei. It has a fresh aroma, and while it's light on the palate, it has a strong flavor and a sour taste afterwards. Purchased from: Masuda Jinbei Saketen

One of the bottles ordered from Murakami City. The rice used for this sake is Koshi Tanrei, which is harvested in Murakami City. It has a gorgeous aroma of ginjo-shu, and the flavor of the rice makes it very dry. This is what they call "crisp and dry". It's an undisputedly delicious sake, but for me it was a bit too elegant. Purchased from: Masuda Jinbei Saketen

Long-awaited order from Murakami City. Freshly squeezed season has arrived! You can drink it smoothly even at 20% alcohol, but it is a sake you want to savor slowly. The fresh aroma and strong rice flavor go well with salty pickles. Purchased from: Masuda Jinbei Sake Shop

I bought it in Oguni, Kumamoto prefecture. 900ml bottle reminds me of shochu (Japanese liquor). At room temperature, it is still a shochu liqueur? I think. When it's warmed up, I think, "Oh good. I can drink it!

Bought in Kochi, at home. First cold, then hot. The cold one has a sour taste, like a lactic acid beverage, and the warm one has a mellow sourness. When it was warmed, the acidity became mellow and tasty, even though it had an unpleasant rice smell. It was the first time I had a warmed nigori sake.

Tasted at the Senri Hankyu. It's a lightly muddy junmai sake with a rich aroma. The sake is said to be a little sweet, but it's not too sweet due to the high alcohol content, so you want to taste it slowly. We tasted three types of Kamotsuru, and bought this one for drinking at home.

Purchased at Hirome Market in Kochi, at home. This is a junmai sake for the 20th anniversary of Hirome Market's founding. It's very satisfying for the price. It's refreshingly dry, and it's gooey!

I bought it at a brewery in Oguni. It has a sweet aroma and is a little heavy. I wonder if they feel it is heavy because this is a place where shochu is often drunk. I think it might go well with grilled meat or horse-slices. By the way, it went well with yellowtail sashimi.
