Our family's annual New Year's sake. Asakai's new rice brewed sake. Junmai Nama-no-Harajiku.
It has a robust impression with an alcohol content of 18 degrees, but the taste is well-balanced with a beautiful combination of umami and sweetness, and the flavor is packed with even more umami.
It is a versatile all-purpose sake that can be used as a food sake, and can be matched with both Japanese and Western cuisine.
This is a bottle that will make you say "I'm going to drink good sake again this year" as you enjoy your regular sake. Delicious ❗️
Good evening, Jay & Nobby!
This sake has become a tradition for us since we receive it as a New Year's gift 🍶.
We drink it every year and before we know it, it has become a staple of ours. ☺️
The first sake continues.
Purchased at Japan Meat Yoshioka store ¥1,298-.
Asakai, Junmai Harazake Aki-agari Umakoi
As soon as the sake is poured into the cup, a fresh and fruity aroma wafts through the air.
The refreshing sweetness, acidity, and slight bitterness do not betray the impression given by the aroma.
It is a sake that I would like to have again if I ever come across it again.
The matured sake is laid down further for 3 years. Let's see what kind of encounter we will have. When the bottle is opened, the aroma is clean and refreshing. In the mouth, you feel sweetness on the tip of the tongue, followed by a complex flavor that is hard to describe, and finishes with a weak bitterness. It's a complex flavor. Very mellow and delicious. It goes well with the sweet flavor of the pork radish. The complex flavor is maintained, but the refreshing feeling is enhanced, so you can't stop drinking. Adding poppy seeds to the daikon gives the sake a sweetness that is also good. The moderate aged aroma gives it a Western sake-like flavor, so cheese is added. The savory flavor of the crackers, the saltiness of the cheese, and the sweetness of the cream will increase the potential of the sake. Fun! When paired with smoked salmon, the sweetness of the alcohol lingers on the upper jaw, a strange sensation. It was a wonderful sake with many different faces.
