I am traveling in Wakayama Prefecture. I was attracted by the super dry sake at a liquor store I passed by, so I bought it. I was fishing and caught the stone bream I was longing for, so I had a glass of it with sashimi! I can't get enough of local sake and fish when I'm on vacation. So happy!
Comparison of nigori sake (Wakayama's favorite nigori sake)

This is the fire-brewed version of the nigori sake we drank in February.
I buy every bottle of Chokyu I see that I have never had before 😆.
The first thing that surprised me when I drank it was that there was no fizziness at all 😲.
The aroma is somewhat almond-like, and it's cloudy with a lot of orioles, so it's like diluted almond milk.
But it also has a sourness to it, so I felt a bit unbalanced 🤔.
I prefer nigori sake with a fizzy taste 😄.
I bought this sake because of its "super dry" taste.
It had been sitting for more than a year, but now that the sake we prioritize drinking has settled down, it's time to open the bottle!
When I opened the bottle and poured it out, the aroma was discreet but yogurt-like. It is almost scentless.
The mouthfeel is full-blown spicy and astringent, befitting the name "super-harsh". The spiciness leads the way, while the calm and fullness of Junmai comes in later. It has a crustacean-like aroma, and the alcohol content is 19%, so it has a robust feel. This core strength and lack of quirkiness makes it perfect for evening drinks!
The spiciness of the spiciness also gives it the sweetness of junmai, making it a candy and whip like flavor ✨.
Following on from the "Ding" the other day, this is my favorite flavor again!
It's also a good cosmetic sake, so you can enjoy it on a daily basis 👍.
Nigori Sake (Japanese rice wine)
First time drinking Chokyu's nigori 😊.
I always buy Chokyu when I see the new label ✌.
The ori is quite a bit more and has a strong fizzy feel to it.
It has a lot of umami and a hint of sweetness that is typical of Chokyu, and yet it has a clean dryness that makes it a dangerous sake that you can drink with gusto 🤭.
The impression is quite similar to Hirotogawa's nigori👍
It goes well with western food, and the omelette was a nice match 😋.

The concept of this sake goes beyond the classical "Chokyu" brand. There is a very popular izakaya in Shirahama, Wakayama, with the name of its signature brand "Chokyu", and the food is excellent.
A glass of wine.
The entrance aroma is sweet and thick. When you take a sip, the fresh sweetness of the rice supported by the thick umami and the moderate bitterness create an even more voluminous feeling. There is a lingering aftertaste of moderate bitterness. Omachi is in full bloom! It is delicious.
Tenkai glass.
Compared to the wine glass, the aroma at the entrance is almost imperceptible, but the overlap of sweetness and umami in the mouth is wonderful, and the bitterness felt in the wine glass is brought backward. In terms of the overall sense of balance, this glass is more suitable. Delicious!
The wine is a good sipping cup.
Aroma of thick entrance. After taking a sip, the spread of sweetness supported by umami comes quickly and beautifully to the side of the tongue. There is also a moderate bitterness. The freshness of the sake is best felt with this sake cup. The sake cup is very well made.
The Tenkai glass may be the best for this quality of sake. For the dry drinkers who also want a sharpness with bitterness, I think a wine glass with a good balance of umami and sweetness would be best.
