Shikoku x Sake Country 2025: Sake Brewery Wonderland On Osaka - A Spectacle of Sake and Food from Shikoku (⑲)
With about 10 minutes to go, I thought to myself, "Well, I haven't had any Hakutsuru-nishiki from Ume-nishiki yet..." and headed for the sake brewery.
I was curious about the sake that Mr. Neemuchi was drinking at the Sake Expo in Harukas, but I forgot to drink it 😅.
The aroma is fruity.
The aroma is fruity, and the flavor and sweetness are both robust and delicious 😋.
While I was drinking Ume Nishiki, Nemuchi-san was drinking Minami and talking with the brewer.
After the event, we decided to go to Ikoma Sake Brewery where they were having a tasting event.
Shikoku x Sake Country 2025 Sake Brewery Wonderland On Osaka - A Spectacle of Sake and Food in Shikoku ⑱
Etsukaijin, which I don't usually drink, visited at the end of the event to try it since it was such an opportunity!
I drank
Kurosawa Kame no O Junmai Ginjo Unfiltered Nama
Kurosawa Kame no O seems to be produced in Miyagi Prefecture. It seems to be grown by Mr. Kurosawa.
It has a sense of maturity, but it is not unpleasant. It has a complex taste of sweetness and grain.
Blue Bottle Junmai Ginjo Unfiltered Nama
I wonder if I didn't take a picture of it because I've had it in the past.
I borrowed Nemuchi's photo.
I heard it is light and easy to drink among the Trijin, but I still felt it was dark and sharp and had a unique character.
There was also Akaban Omachi, but I guess he didn't drink it!
I'd like to try Kaijin again!
Shikoku x Sake Country 2025 Sake Brewery Wonderland On Osaka - A Spectacle of Sake and Food in Shikoku ⑰
When Mr. Nemuchi left for a break, we went to Tosatsuru's booth.
When I first started drinking sake, I checked out unfiltered and unfiltered sake at random, so I wanted to try this sake. I've never seen this one for sale.
It doesn't say, but it looks like it's a pure sake.
When you put it in your mouth, you can smell a little aroma. It's spicy, but with a sweet and bitter taste, and although it has a strong flavor and high alcohol content (18 degrees), it's easy to drink.
I would like to drink it with bonito tataki.
They also had a Ryoma from Kikusui Brewery, but neither of us took a picture of it 😅I drank it last year and posted about it.

Kameizumi, famous for CEL-24
I drank the one that is not 😋.
We drank
Junmai Daiginjo Heki Ryuusen
Matsuyama-Mitsui AC-91 (some breweries list it as AC-95) yeast is said to be rare among Kameizumi breweries.
Calm and fruity. Elegant taste.
Kouiku 63 Junmai Ginjyo Nama
Kouiku 63" seems to refer to a rice called "Kaze Naruko.
As in the past, it is slightly spicy, but fruity and gorgeous!
I didn't take a picture of it, so I borrowed it from Nemuchi-san.
Kameizumi's sake is good for other than CEL, so I hope you enjoy it!
Good evening, bouken🍶.
Sounds like a fun Shikoku festival 🤗.
I heard that CEL 24 is not popular with Kochi's
I heard that CEL 24 is not popular among Kochi people who like dry sake.
I heard that CEL 24 is not popular among the Kochi people who like dry sake, so it is mostly for outside of the prefecture.
Kameizumi is delicious 😋.

Fujimusume, whose Junmai Ginjo we bought at Hanshin Department Store last year and Nama-shu we bought at an antenna store left a good impression.
I picked up and drank only the daiginjo!
According to the official website, the rice is Gin-no-Yume and the sake is unadulterated.
I got the impression that it was a dry sake with a gentle mouthfeel and a little acidity.
Fujimusume, none of them are modern sake, but they are delicious!
Shikoku x Sake Country 2025 Sake Brewery Wonderland On Osaka - A Spectacle of Sake and Food in Shikoku ⑭
Kawazawa Sake Brewery has been on my radar ever since I saw the news about the brewery's birth.
The brewery owner's son? An elementary school boy was going around handing out flyers 😊.
Seeing something like this makes me want to support them🤗.
We drank
Clouds on the mountain Zaagusaag Special Junmai
Gohyakumangoku, 60% polished rice
I got the impression that it was a dry sake with a good sweetness and umami.
Yama ni Kumo no Karara Karara Junmai Daiginjo
Gin no Yume 50% polished rice
The aroma is sweet.
It is sweet and fruity. The acidity is fruit-like.
Low alcohol content, light and easy to drink.
Expect to find it in the antenna store at KITTE.

Drunken Whale is the image of Mr. Rui Yoshida.
I usually don't drink sake because of its dry image, so I decided to take this opportunity.
What we drank was
Junmai Ginjo Kouiku 54
Kouiku 54 = Gin no Yume
Dry sake with a hint of sweetness.
I've had this one at home in the past, but I had a similar impression.
Junmai Daiginjo Tora
Made with Bizen Omachi. It is refreshing, but the acidity is impressive.
Junmai Daiginjyo Natsujira Genshu
The rice is Ginpu. The rice is Ginpu. It is refreshing but has a fruity taste. It is not sweet, but it seems to change the image of drunken whales when you drink it.
They didn't bring any high-end sake with a flirtatious design label, but they did have a pamphlet.
Shikoku x Sake Country 2025 Sake Brewery Wonderland On Osaka - Shikoku's Sake and Food Spectacle ⑫
Mr. Kazuho Takagi, the brewery owner who gave a lengthy explanation at last year's Kochi event at Hanshin Department Store, was there!
I thought I saw someone I recognized next to him, but it was the manager of Asano Sake Shop in Umeda, who was helping out.
The manager? I said "Manager? He said he was the manager of Asano Sake Shop in Umeda.
I don't go to the store often and I've never talked to him 😅.
I drank
Junmai ginjo ito no okashi
Sake made with CEL-24. I've had it a few times and it has just the right amount of fruity and sweetness.
Tosa Kinzo Junmai Sake
The blue label we drank last year was a special junmai sake, and the red one was a junmai sake.
The red one is junmai sake. It tastes slightly spicy but not boring.
I am glad I was able to reconfirm the taste of Toyonou Ume 😊.
Shikoku x Sake Country 2025 Sake Brewery Wonderland On Osaka - Shikoku's Sake and Food Spectacle - 11
Matsuo Sake Brewery's booth at Hanshin Department Store, where I had my first drink last year!
Another family-owned business with a homey atmosphere!
The president standing at the booth while drinking was very funny!
I drank
Yamada Taiko Junmai Daiginjo
Fruity, clean, sweet and delicious!
Kurazake
It only says "Kura-shu" on the bottle, but it is a nigori (nigori) sake with 19 degrees Celsius!
It has a robust taste and seems to go well with Chinese food.
Yamada Taiko Junmai
It has a strong acidity.
Junmai Ginjo K-701 Tosa Rei
Easy to drink
I heard that "Kurashitsu Soda" which is brewed by mixing sake with Mitsuya Cider is very popular and I tried it!
It tasted like juice, but I thought it would be bad.
I drank it and got tongue-tied,
Kura, a sake brewer's kura
Crushed water = crushed ice
Once you drink it, it crashes (or breaks).
It crashed beautifully 🤪.
I borrowed the picture of Kurashu soda from Mr. Nemuchi.
Shikoku x Sake Country 2025 Sake Brewery Wonderland On Osaka - Shikoku's Sake and Food Spectacle - 10
Nomushi, who in the past drank retro-labeled nama sake in five-pack bottles, again had a lineup of only classic-labeled one-pack bottles!
I don't think this brewery basically goes out of the prefecture, but it is available in the Kansai region because the proprietress of a liquor store in Kadoma and the brewery owner are classmates. I bought one there myself once!
I drank
Kuromatsu Nomushi Ginjo
It is said to be aged for a while. It is round and easy to drink.
They only serve one bottle and 300ml, but I told them that with this flavor and 300ml, the time would fly by!
Nomushi Junmai Ginjo
Contrary to the image on the label, it is beautiful and easy to drink.
Nomushi: Unpasteurized Sake
Delicious with a strong umami flavor
All the sake tasted like they should be kept at room temperature or warmed up.
As the brewer said, it can be kept at room temperature, so maybe there's no need to serve 4 gos of sake. I thought so.
The two that left the biggest impression on me this time were Jogawago and Nomushi.
There were many other Ehime breweries, but I drank all the breweries I saw for the first time, and I didn't have time to go to the Kochi booth😅.
Shikoku x Sake Country 2025 Sake Brewery Wonderland On Osaka - Shikoku's Sake and Food Spectacle ⑨
Famous Sakai
Simple lineup with only 2 items on display
Consignment brewing (Sakura Uzumaki?) I wonder if the number of products is small because it looks like a commissioned brewery (Sakura Uzumaki?).
The label on the back of the sample sake said "processor" instead of "manufacturer".
I drank
Shunzan Junmai Ginjo
It reads "Shunzan".
As for the origin, see Nemuchi's post 😌.
Sakurahime yeast is used and the rice polishing ratio is 50%.
The taste is very rice-like and the rest of the flavor is not so impressive.
Blood Orange Umeshu
Winner of a gold medal at a plum wine competition.
Tastes more like blood orange than plum wine.
I wanted to drink it with soda.
It is 8%, but if you drink it at a good rate, it tastes like it will make you drunk.
Blood Orange Umeshu is available at Seijo Ishii in Kansai.
Shikoku x Sake Country 2025 Sake Brewery Wonderland On Osaka - Shikoku's Sake and Food Spectacle - 8
Shirokawago at last year's Ogimachi Park event!
When I showed him a picture of the daiginjo I had, he was surprised that it was a rare sake 😳.
Ehime is quite deep in the mountains and there seems to be no public transportation.
Ichisan Sake Shop seems to carry it too!
We drank
Over the ridge Special Junmai
Yamadanishiki, Shizuku Ehime, Ehime Ikume 71, Sake degree +1
Polishing ratio: 50% for koji rice, 58% for kake rice
I was looking forward to it because I heard it was delicious beforehand.
The sweetness and umami are both well expressed.
In a good sense, the impression of this sake is different from the image on the label.
Junmai Daiginjo
Shizuku Ehime Sake degree -2, Rice polishing ratio 40
Gorgeous and just the right amount of sweetness and umami.
Daiginjo
Yamadanishiki Sake meter value +2, rice polishing ratio 40
Gorgeous, yet spicy and refreshing
Ginjo
Yamadanishiki Sake meter value +2 Polishing ratio 50%.
Sake is refreshing, but not too sweet.
Junmai Ginjyo Sakurahime
Shizuku Ehime Sake meter value +3
According to the brewer's description, it's not as dry as it looks on the label, but it tastes more gentle than it is dry. 13.6%, low alcohol content?
Overall, they are sweet and all of them are delicious.
I'd like to try it at home.
Only Junmai-haraju (pure sake) is available at the brewery, but it seems they rarely serve it.
I got the impression that it is a family-run, homey brewery 🤗.
Shikoku x Sake Country 2025 Sake Brewery Wonderland On Osaka - Shikoku's Sake and Food Spectacle - 7
The brand name comes from the oldest elementary school in Shikoku called Kaimei Gakko!
Well, Amagasaki used to have Kaimei Elementary School 🤔.
We drank
Kaimyo Junmai Ginjo
It is refreshing and easy to drink with a good balance of sweet and spicy.
It has a little bit of gorgeousness.
Kaimyo Junmai-shu Iyo no Koigokoro
Made with Sakurahime yeast. It has a slight sweetness. It has a nice crisp and clean taste. Rather spicy? The outfit was not junmai because I am not a brewer 😁.
Kaimyo Aged Junmai Sake
It is a blend of junmai sake that has been aged for more than 3 years.
The color is relatively clear even though it is an aged sake.
It tastes slightly matured and full of flavor.
Kaimyo 2001 Junmai Unfiltered Harazake
It tastes like sherry or Western-style sake. It has an atmosphere similar to that of Okutanba's sherry cask-stored sake, but with more depth.
I thought it had a classy taste, but the price is quite expensive because it is 24 years old 😳.
Sake fortified long aged sake "Who's that?
Aged sake with liqueur added. High alcohol content and a sharp taste.
Ehime's sake has a sweet taste even with high sake content.
Ehime sake shop has a wide variety of Ehime sake, and the owner seems to be from Ehime. They have Kaimyo and one previous Ume Bijin available.
I bought a bottle of Kawakame a few years ago.
Shikoku x Sake Country 2025 Sake Brewery Wonderland On Osaka - A Spectacle of Sake and Food from Shikoku - (6)
This is also our first visit to the Umeibijin Sake Brewery in Yawatahama City.
Yawatahama has a small population, but it has a great shopping arcade. I'd like to visit there once 😆.
It seems they also make whiskey!
I thought I heard something about Ume Bijin, but Seiji Chihara visited there at Aiseki Shokudo 🤔.
I drank
Takao Daiginjo-genshu
Yamadanishiki, Polishing ratio 40%, Sake degree ±0
Fruity, sweet and luxurious 😋.
Ume Bijin Junmai Daiginjo
Shizuku Ehime, Polishing ratio 50%, Sake strength -6
Fruity, sweet and delicious 😋.
According to the internet, there is also a draft of this sake, but I'm sure it's a delicious one!
Both were sweet and delicious!
I was surprised to find that Kamoshita Sake Shop in Tokyo, which also carries Kikubunmei from Hiroshima, carries Ume Bijin 😳.
Is it a strong minor brand?
Shikoku x Sake Country 2025 Sake Brewery Wonderland On Osaka - A Spectacle of Sake and Food from Shikoku - (5)
Ehime Prefecture from here
Sake brewery severely damaged by torrential rain in western Japan.
They have made a comeback thanks to crowdfunding and support from many people!
There are no distributors in Kansai, but there are some restaurants that deal directly with the brewery.
We drank
Kaze no Sato Junmai-shu
Matsuyama Mitsui Polishing ratio 60%, EK-1 yeast, Sake meter value +7
I thought it would be a classic type of sake, but it's quite modern.
Rice flavor and a bit of fruitiness.
The taste itself is nice, but there is something strange about it...
Kaze no Sato Junmai Ginjo
Shizuku Ehime, Polishing ratio 50%, EK-3 yeast, Sake meter value +6
A juicy sake with a firm sweetness.
A little pineapple 🍍.
The most delicious 😋.
Junmai Daiginjo Usu
Yamadanishiki, Polishing ratio 40%, EK-1 yeast, Sake meter value +8
It was refreshing and gorgeous, but delicious!
It had a berry-like flavor.
All of the breweries here have high sake strength, but it didn't feel too spicy.
Kaze no Sato Junmai Ginjo Sakura hime
Shizuku Ehime, Polishing ratio 50%, Sake strength -4
Sakura hime yeast "Type2 Clear" is used.
Slightly floral. Refreshing sweetness.
He said the color of the scarf represents the type of yeast 🧣.
It could have been Akira Nakao, Junichi Ishida, or any other way to wrap it, but the outfit looked like Jun-Yeast 🤣.
Good evening, Pon-chan 🌆.
As soon as I saw your outfit, the song you sang in Kohaku replayed in my brain 🕺.
There was a guy who looked like a smaller version of LiLiCo's husband 😆.
The president of the company was also wearing this 😁.
Shikoku x Sake Country 2025 Sake Brewery Wonderland On Osaka - Shikoku's Sake and Food Spectacle ④
Here's another Gotenzakura I've never had before!
The name somehow reminds me of Usagi Goten 🐰
I've seen a liquor store that sells doburoku, but...
I drank
Gotenzakura Junmai Ginjyo Genshu
Polishing ratio 55%, LED dream yeast used. 1870 yen
Fruity and delicious!
There are various types of LED dream yeast and their characteristics are different. It seems there are different types of LED dream yeast with different characteristics.
Some are sweet, some are not.
Unlike the label, it is quite a modern type.
Gotenzakura Junmai Daiginjo
Polishing ratio: Kakemai 40%, Kojimai 50%, Tokushima Yamadanishiki
Also made with LED dream yeast. 3190 yen.
Beautiful but tasteless or rather thin
Now I'm leaving the Tokushima booth, but Tsunomine Sake Brewery that was on the flyer didn't show up 🤔.
I didn't see their sales booth so I don't know, maybe they were just selling?
I gave up on Miyoshigiku, Naruto Taihai, and Hyoutaiko due to time constraints 🙏.
Good evening.
There was no sale either.
Tsunomine is my favorite, so I made sure to check.
I have the feeling that it has become smaller in many ways than it used to be.
Hello Shinjo 😃
Tsunomine was still not there 💦.
Compared to the participating breweries 6 years ago, the number has decreased considerably 😢 especially in Ehime...
Shikoku x Sake Country 2025 Sake Brewery Wonderland On Osaka - Shikoku's Sake and Food Spectacle - (3)
I've been drinking it at home in the past, but there's no longer a store where you can buy it...
It's a brewery of the Novil Group, which operates a diversified business in Tokushima, including pachinko halls, golf courses, car sales, and a vending machine business.
They are planning to withdraw from the pachinko hall business by transferring it to another company in the same business.
I drank
Kirai Gin Junmai Daiginjo
Yamadanishiki, Polishing ratio 43%, Sake meter value +2.0
It's sweet and junmai, but has a strong umami flavor and is very drinkable.
Kirai Kuro Tokubetsu Junmai Yakkuchi
Gin-no-sato Polishing ratio 63% Sake strength +1.0
It's a bit on the dry side, but has a nice sweetness to it.
It's like a modern classic.
Kirai Aka Junmai Ginjyo Rich
Gin-no-sato Polishing ratio 53%, Sake meter value +1.0
I like it because it's quite fruity, sweet and has a strong umami taste.
Kibukigawa Special Junmai
Gin-no-sato Polishing ratio 60
It is smooth, easy to drink and slightly sweet. It has a lingering aftertaste, but it is short. It has a lingering aftertaste, but it is short.
Overall, there were many types that were sweet and had a short, sharp aftertaste.
They said they would bring a blue-labeled sake for the June national sake fair.
I wish there was a store in Kansai where I could buy it 🤔.
Shikoku x Sake Country 2025 Sake Brewery Wonderland On Osaka - Shikoku's Sake and Food Spectacle - (2)
I've had Hosui a few times, but I wanted to talk to the brewery owner in his 20s, so I visited!
I found out on Tomegawa Sake Brewery's Instagram that he took over the brewery at the age of 27 due to the sudden death of his predecessor, the crazy Salad Kan!
They had a bottle of raw Omachi sake, so I chose this one!
I think there was some sweetness, but the acidity was impressive anyway. It was tasty, but not Oumachi-like...
Yoshimizu, the sake I've had in the past may be dry in terms of specs, but I think it's the type of dryness that suits me 🤔.
Hello bouken🌞.
I'm jealous that Kansai seems to be coming to tasting events a little bit.
I can't find any stores selling it in Tokyo 🥲.
I couldn't buy CWS's Yoshimizu because there were so few of them and they sold out fast😅.
Hello, Matsuchiyo-san.
I feel familiar with you since you sometimes come to our department store events in Kansai 😊.
I've only seen Takakaki at liquor stores 💦.
Seems like CWS's didn't have many in stock anywhere 🤔.
Shikoku x Sake Country 2025 Sake Brewery Wonderland On Osaka - Shikoku's Sake and Food Spectacle - (1)
Nemuchi and I participated in the Shikoku Sake event held at Kyocera Dome!
The venue was 5 minutes before the event, so we arrived in time to get in, but the line was too long to get in in 5 minutes 😳 We lost about 10 minutes 💦.
We lost about 10 minutes 💦.
There was no sake list like at Japanese Sake Fest or Sake-1 Grand Prix 🤔.
We decided to focus on the breweries we hadn't seen before.
We started with Imakomachi.
It seems to be in the same area as Yoshimizu and Miyoshikiku, and Miyoshikiku has the same salad address, so they are neighbors!
I referred to the official site for the specs.
I drank
Junmai Ginjo Unfiltered Harazake
Gohyakumangoku, 50% polished rice ratio
It has a beautiful taste and is slightly sweet. It is fire-aged, but I also felt a sense of freshness. The sweetness and acidity were well balanced.
Junmai Daiginjo Unfiltered Harajuku
Yamadanishiki, 40% polished rice
Fruity and sweet. I got the impression that Imakomachi is generally sweet.
Yamasho Junmai Ginjo Genshu
Gohyakumangoku, 60% polished rice ratio
Unlike the above two types, it is refreshingly dry as it claims to be super dry.
Daiginjo
Yamadanishiki 40% polished rice
Less sweet than the jun-dai, but delicious.
I asked a distributor in the Kansai region and was told that Daisune in Kobe carries it, but it does not seem to be available at all times and may have to be ordered 🤔.
Both jun-dai and daiginjo are priced at 3300 yen, which is reasonable for the specs!
This one is made with 100% Yamada Nishiki produced in Tokushima Prefecture.
The name seems to be directly inspired by Millet's painting "Ophelia".
It had a good balance of ginjo aroma, freshness, and sharpness.
The label is a painting, but I forgot to take a picture of it. My apologies.
