The label was in trouble!
What is this sake?"
This store has a riddle attached to it (laughs).
The clue was Imazu, Nishinomiya City. And it said HOSUI!
It was a sake made by Ozeki, a local sake brewer.
I thought it was the sake, but it was light and clean.
It was like a mild version of a classic sake. It was very easy to drink.
This is a can of Miyatan from "Tanoshimiya Nishinomiya".
The photo shows the Imazu Lighthouse.
It has a slightly nice aroma.
Smooth taste. Clear and fruity.
It is easy to drink with no alcohol taste.
It was a single can that I would drink in gulps.
The 2nd Yodobashi Umeda National Sake Festival (11)
Ozeki's booth in Kyoto Prefecture but Niigata Prefecture's Echino Yatsuho booth.
When I asked about it, I was told that it was a subsidiary of the Ozeki Group, renamed Echigo Sake Brewery in 1986 from Hatta Sake Brewery, where it was founded. The president is from Ozeki, but the other brewers are still making the same products, and the scale of the company is about 100 to 1. The difference between Ozeki and the other breweries is that they basically make pure rice or better with rice produced in Niigata Prefecture. I had no idea.
◉Echigo-No-Hachiho Echigo-no Amaguchi
I've had this before. Not too sweet.
Koshinohatoyo Echigo-no-Azumaki
Another sake I've had before, but this time with a Sake Brix of +5, a refreshingly dry sweetness. Sake meter value +5.
◉Koshinohatoyo Junmai Ginjo
Slightly acidic from the umami. The aroma is subtle on the nose.
Daiginjo
The first impression is that there is a slight astringency, but then it becomes milder. The umami is a bit more than that.
Ozeki Osaka-ya
A 100% Yamadanishiki sake brewed by hand in small tanks. The taste is synonymous with good sake, with a mild umami that is well balanced.
A four-pack of sake at Yamaya for about 680 yen.
It has the mouthfeel of a true sake.
And it is clean and mellow.
It is quite cost-effective. ❗️
My personal impression is that the sake manju from Kihachisu Sohonpo came to mind: ☺️
The sake we are having tonight is a major sake from Nada, and it is very smooth, straightforward, and not intrusive, so it goes down very smoothly.
It is delicious, this sake.
Please try a regular sake from a major brewery and try it again without any preconceived notions. You will be surprised at the high level of quality.
