Genzai Tokujo Fukunoka Hi-ire
Rating 4.5
Rice : 100% Aizu Fukunoka, Polishing ratio : 50%, Sake meter : -4.0 to -6.0, Acidity : 1.4 to 1.6, Alcohol content : 15
The name "Gensai" comes from Harunaka Tanaka, a retainer of the Aizu domain. Using Aizu-grown Fukunoka, this sake has a fruity aroma and a rich flavor of rice, but with a light aftertaste. It is brewed slowly at low temperature. The gorgeous aroma reminds one of apples and white peaches. It has a light touch with a moderate acidity and a dry finish.
It has a mellow taste and is made from 35% Yamada-Nishiki. It has a robust taste, but is very tasty without any strange habits.
The price is quite expensive, 5,500 yen for a four-pack.
☀️
Rumor has it that Genzei is a good guy.
I picked it up unintentionally at Izumiya on the way back from a trip to Aizu and bought it...there was no room in the fridge😅.
I emptied the right one and stored it though 🤣
I didn't touch it because it was too good, but I thought it was about time to open the bottle 🍶.
It has a skiffy mineral smell, and the aroma makes you go "Oh 😳".
It has a refreshing mouthfeel that is the same quality as the smell 😙.
The sweetness and delayed bitterness 😚 spread in the mouth.
You feel the suppleness of water as it goes down your throat 😊.
I have high expectations for the world of Genzai 🤩.
I'll have to check out Xuanzhai regularly from now on🤣.
Good evening, Sashu 😃.
Izumiya's lineup is amazing 🥰.
Genzai was definitely shining among them ✨.
There were a lot of other sake I wanted to buy besides Genzai-san, so I'll have to go back 😆.
Hi Hiro, good evening...
You got it right 😁.
I'm sure Izumiya was great ‼️ you know I'm going to go there ✨ just hard to have a long talk in that atmosphere 😅.
Good evening Mr. Muro 😃.
I bought Genzai-san firmly 😁.
With that number of visitors it would be annoying to talk to each other, so if you want to talk, it's Mr. Sota 😁.
Izumiya is a great liquor store with a great lineup and I can't wait to go back to buy more 😆.
It has a pear-like aroma and is fruity, but it also has a calmness that makes it easy to drink in a balanced way.
I would like to repeat it at home because of its good cost performance.
I was shocked by Genzai's Special Junmai and tried the Tokkami 😃.
Right after opening the bottle, it was hard but gradually the flavor started to take over👍.
The sweet aroma and the robust flavor seemed to blossom in the mouth at the end...
I hope to see you again 😍.
Purchase Genzai by recommendation in the store.
Opened the bottle! Nice aroma!
Refreshing and fruity
Sip: Strong acidity, like melon
At first, it feels smooth.
As I continued drinking, the alcohol came down my throat.
Refreshing bitterness spreads
Delicious 😋
The Tokkami I had before was delicious, but the Tokubetsu Junmai may be even better!
Muscat and Japanese pear flavors to a slight gassy finish. There is a banana-like sweetness at the end, but the bitterness is also present and not sticky.
I didn't know Suehiro Shuzo brews such good sake...I wish I could go there too!
Hi oosuka 😃
Oooh! Special Junmai is better than Tokkami 😋 We were right to drink from Special Junmai: ‼️
Everyone has their own tastes though 😄I'm sure they are both delicious!
Thanks again, Jay & Nobby! Genzai, it's really nice, isn't it?
Personally, I prefer Kuraku Junmai to Junmai Ginjo, and maybe I shouldn't be fooled by the specs!
Genzai is a hot topic right now! When it's a sake from Fukushima, you can't afford not to drink it😄.
The aroma is like muscat or pear. When you drink it, it has sweetness and a slight carbonation. The umami spreads from there, and you can also taste a bit of sourness. The aftertaste is strong with acidity and umami, and has a nice sharpness. It is a very delicious sake. It has a sweet, umami, fruity taste, which is very popular now. It is sure to be popular. It goes well with Japanese food.
Jay & Nobby Good evening😄I tried the Genzai 😊It was delicious and no wonder it is so popular! Glad to show once again the high level of sake in Fukushima!

■The impression of Yusuke Tsuda, son of a sake brewer
A fusion of traditions from the Edo period and modern technology has produced a refreshing, easy-drinking sake🍶.
It is brewed with carefully selected rice and water and has a low cloying taste, making it a good choice for first-timers ✨.
It is a perfect match for all Japanese food, so add it to your dining table as a drink to add color to your table. 🍽️

Suehiro.
Gensai is quite my favorite this year.
I stopped by Izumiya in Koriyama on a trip to Fukushima and bought it.
First day, slightly gassy and fruity aroma. Pear. The sweetness and acidity are well-balanced and moderate. No bitterness, light and very tasty.
The next day, the aroma of muscat is strong and sweet.
Presented in April 2024.
Kaegura is designated as a national tangible cultural property and is popular as a tourist warehouse. We had a chance to visit it on our last trip.
It was named after Tanaka Harunaka, a famous retainer of the Aizu clan.
Genzai" as a preparation for the Wakamatsu trip!
This time it's the Tokujo version. I was so excited before I even opened it because the Tokujun was so good ✨.
When opened and poured, the aroma is gorgeous and fresh, with hints of melon, white peach, and cider.
The mouthfeel has a fine carbonation that gives it a shwashy feeling. Contrast between pure sweetness and refreshing acidity. The taste is elegant, like lychee, muscatel, melon, or wasanbon.
However, the beauty is that it doesn't linger, but rather finishes with a bit of austerity, while also bringing out the flavor of the rice. The richness of the flavor in a smart way makes you go "mmmm" 👍.
It has been a long time since I last visited Aizu in summer.
I hope to enjoy a relaxing trip to the place where I have a connection with. But my heart is in a festive mood!
