This is a Nagasaki sake that we believe is new to us. When you drink it, you first feel the sweetness of the rice. I did not buy sake before boarding because I thought I could not bring a large amount of liquid on board with me, but when I heard it was okay, I bought it immediately.
The taste is a sake that can be enjoyed with a meal with a good balance of sweetness and throatiness. It was a treat.
I went to an antenna store in Nihonbashi in search of Nagasaki Prefecture's sake.
Come to think of it, one of the current (late 2022) NHK morning dramas is set in Goto, Nagasaki Prefecture.
Antenna stores are really convenient.
I chose this sake from a selection of sake.
It is made by a rare process called "Hanegi Shibori".
The aroma is slightly sweet, but the taste is less sweet, and the acidity and bitterness are stronger.
There is also a lingering aftertaste.
It is dry.
At Kuwabara Shoten.
It has been a long time since I have had Nagasaki sake. It has an interesting name.
It is said to be slowly pressed in a rare spring wood press tank.
It has an elegant sweet aroma.
The taste is smooth and soft sweetness.
Kuwabara Shoten offers a wide variety of products, which I enjoyed.
The tsumami is also unique and delicious.
It was so smooth in the mouth that it made one wonder if it was water. After that, a slight sweetness and the deliciousness of the rice quickly rushes down your throat, and you realize that it is sake.
Perhaps it is because the alcohol content is between 14 and 15 degrees, but it is light on the palate and easy to drink.
The light sweetness spread out and flowed smoothly.
The sweetness was elegant, perhaps due to the fact that it was made with Nadeko yeast, and there was little bitterness.
It was available at all liquor stores in Nagasaki City, so I wonder if they are putting a lot of effort into selling it in the prefecture.
My father was also curious and bought some.
Many people were drinking Junmai sake at the standing bar at Nagasaki station and I thought it might have a strong bitter taste, but this one didn't.

I tried a junmai daiginjo lukewarm, which I had never tried before, and it was surprisingly delicious, giving me a glimpse into the new world of heated junmai daiginjos. Perhaps it is because it is a sweet brand, but I had the impression that it would be relaxing to drink in the cold.
I would like to drink it at room temperature or below next time, as I felt that it is definitely delicious even when drunk chilled.
I don't think many people in Sakegawa know this, but the West Kyushu Shinkansen (Takeo Onsen-Nagasaki) will be open in 10 days!
When the line opens, we will not be able to see the spectacular view of the Ariake Sea, which is the highlight of the train window from the limited express Kamome departing from Hakata...
So, we decided to take a bullet tour of Nagasaki at a moment's notice to see it last. ❗️
We boarded the Kamome express train before 8:00 a.m. and arrived in Nagasaki before 10:00 a.m.
To make the most of our short stay in Nagasaki, we visited Peace Park and Urakami Tenshudo, and finished the tour at "Tatanbaa", a standing bar in Kamome Yokocho, a restaurant district directly connected to Nagasaki Station.
The sake menu is exclusively Nagasaki's own!

Hanegi-shibori is a method of pressing sake using the principle of leverage.
There are only a few sake breweries left in Japan that use this method...
