Calpis-like cloudy white color with a hint of oily air. A sweet aroma reminiscent of lactic acid bacteria beverages. Aroma of full-bodied rice. A candy-like sweet aroma. Extremely sweet mouthfeel. Next comes a sourness with a slight effervescence, followed by an alcohol-derived bitterness. A long aftertaste that leaves a bitter sweetness.
Category is liqueur, so it is an extra category.
It is easy to drink, although it has a strong sweetness, probably because of the strong alcohol content. It's kind of like a Kikusui style. I drank the supernatant without mixing the muddy sake, but this sake shows its true potential when mixed with the muddy sake.
I tried a drink that I don't usually have.
It was quite impressive.
I had forgotten that nigori means this kind of sake!
It's mild, but it leaves a strong impact.
But it leaves a strong impact.
It has a rough texture in the mouth.
It may not sound like a good expression, but it is a compliment!
It was rich, sweet and tasty.
I drank it on the rocks as recommended.
It was delicious.
Until recently, I was not at all interested in sake in cups or cans. I have been drinking small amounts of sake recently because I can buy a wide variety of sake close at hand.
Nihonshu Shika
21% alcohol is almost the limit for brewing sake. At this level, the yeast is killed by the alcohol it produces. Under the Sake Tax Law, the alcohol content of sake must be less than 22%.
However, Gorohachi is classified as a liqueur, not sake. According to my research, it was classified as sake before 2006. However, due to a revision of the Sake Tax Law, it can no longer be called sake. But rather than change the taste and make it sake, Kikusui chose to keep the taste even if the classification was changed.
I picked up Gorohachi for the first time in a while. It has a mysterious taste, sweet at first as it goes down your throat, but dry at the end.
My father, who passed away two years ago, loved this sake. Looking closely at the label, it says "liqueur. I had never heard of it before.
I have not been drinking much recently, but I like nigori sake rather a lot, and I also like Shiroki from Koshinohomare and Niseko. Both were slightly effervescent.
With liqueur
Strong sweetness, firm aroma of sake lees like amazake
Some pickle-like aroma
The alcohol is quite strong and grueling, but the sweetness is so strong that it feels easy to drink.
The alcohol content is 21%.
It is quite drinkable.
Winter season word, Gorohachi, I want Gorohachi next to my hot pot.
This season is here again this year!
Sweet but refreshing,
It is crisp, yet rich,
The rich flavor that flows smoothly,
It's delicious this year, too!
I really love this moment in winter!
However, the price of Gorohachi has gone up.
The price of 720ml is now over 1,000 yen...
