Suwa Nine Storehouses Tour: 7th Storehouse
The name of this brewery comes from the heroine of the tragic love story of a courtesan named "Yokobue.
I forgot to take a picture of the sake we tasted 😂.
One of my favorite sakes was Yokobue, Shirakaba Nishiki.
It had a gorgeous apple-like aroma and a sourness in harmony with a good sweetness that I don't often experience.
The plum wine was made with sake and was so delicious that I bought it as a souvenir for my daughter.
The brewery in front of Yokobue is Sake Nunoya Honkin Sake Brewery, but it was closed from noon. I heard it was for training, but I was shocked.

I had a Yokojikobue 🪈 at last year's Shinshu liquor store tour 🤗 and the one we drank had a unique aftertaste 😚 but Honkin-san closed 😫 that was a shock 😱.

I bought a bottle of Yokobue at a local supermarket 😀.
I don't think I can detect much aroma 🤔It is a dry Junmai sake with a good balance of rice flavor and acidity 😚👍.
After drinking it as a reward for the weekend, I had a local ramen, Harbin Ramen 🍜🥰.

I'm staying in Suwa City for the whole month for work😊I've been here for about a month and Suwa and Okaya City are like a land committed to drinking and eating ✨🥳🥳sake, soba, eel💮👍super is Tsuruya😚.
It was very fruity and easy to drink.
The label reads, "A confident work of the master brewer's passion.
Enjoy its fruity aroma, smooth texture, and delicate, clear rice flavor. It is also perfect as an aperitif.

YOKOBUE - Junmai-brewed Ume-shu (plum wine) 720ml
Ingredients: Sake, plums, glacial sugar
Alcohol content 11%.
This was purchased at the brewery's store in November. This plum wine was the best among all the ones we tasted 😀.
After the 3rd day of Honkin, I drank straight Umeshu (plum wine). 11 degrees, but I got drunk very fast.

Suwa 5 Breweries Tour (4)
The Suwa 5 Breweries Tour set is available at the tourist information center in Kamisuwa Station for 3,000 yen. 22 tastings in total are available at the 5 breweries. The set comes with a drawstring, glass, and sticker.
The third photo shows the stickers given to you by the breweries on the sticker paper.
The fourth brewery, Yokobue.
There are 5 kinds of tasting. The staff who were accustomed to serving us were very helpful. Nigori sake was recommended by ❗️ and was a compulsory tasting 😆.
My impression of the sake was Yokobue Shirakaba Nishiki.
This is my first time to taste Shirakaba Nishiki sake rice. Excited to see what it tastes like ☺️
The aroma is subdued. On the palate, it has a sweetness similar to green apple🍏 with a slight acidity. There is a lingering sweetness.
Overall, the impression is modest and mature. Seems to go well with a variety of foods...but there was no food at the tasting so I couldn't try it 😭
