Nara Prefecture Okura Yamahai Junmai, left at room temperature
Dosu blend Nama-zake
Polishing ratio 70%.
Alcohol content 17
Transparent dark orange
The first impression of the aroma is that of maturity.
Fragrant wood, old chests, chocolate, smoked aroma
The first impression on the palate is strong.
Full-bodied sweetness, acidity with presence, lingering bitterness.
Complex flavor balance with a slightly long finish.
Quite a peculiar sake!
I think I like it better when it is warmed up, as it becomes a little rounder.
I wonder what kind of food it would be good with... It has a spicy flavor, so it would be good with curry or Chinese food.
I think there might be a dish that would hit the spot.
It would be interesting to find out.
Good morning, Mura909 😃.
It is indeed a very strong sake. I'm sure it would simply age if the quality of the sake wasn't strong, and it's like a manifestation of the brewery's confidence 😄.
I'd like to try it 🍶!
In such extreme heat (I drank it last September), I want something shaken up, not just the flavors I normally drink. lol
Oh, this is just out of the ordinary. The sake level is an astounding -44! The sweetness is tart. As the label design suggests, it has a strong lemon-like acidity.
I ended up drinking it as is, but it would also be delicious with soda or on the rocks.
Yamahai special pure rice
Unfiltered raw sake
Okura which I drank at an old sake bar the other day.
A bit different item though 🤔
I bought it on a trip to Nara 😎.
Drinking at home 😆
I drink it cold or warmed up 😆.
The aroma changes depending on the temperature 🤓.
Complex aroma 🤔
Influenced by the color of the label,
It also smells like orange?
Okura Unfiltered Nama Sake Nakadori
At an old sake bar 😆
Requested a matured draft sake 😎.
The result was Okura and Kozaemon in the picture 😆.
The first taste is gorgeous,
The aftertaste is matured flavor 😋🤓.
Aged sake as expected👍
At Asano Sake Shop SANNOMIYA.
I asked the staff what Okura sake is like. The staff said... "It is a perverted sake"...?
I didn't understand the perversity, but it is a normal, tasty and good sake.
It has a fresh aroma and a gaseous feeling peculiar to direct pumping. The sweetness and umami are good. A taste that you will never get tired of.

Impression
At an izakaya in Nara Prefecture (forgot to take a picture)
The color was light brown, sour and thick.
I wonder if this is the unique taste of Yamahai.
Contrary to the acidity, the mouthfeel was fine and there was a faint sweetness in the aftertaste.
It is not the first sake I would drink, but I would like to drink it after a few glasses.
