We had dinner and drinks mainly with vegetables that arrived from relatives on my wife's side in Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture.
Mainly meat and potatoes. Potatoes, onions, and carrots.
Simmered taro.
Pickled Chinese cabbage and edible chrysanthemum.
Garland chrysanthemum with sesame paste.
We started the evening with Asahiyama Hyakusubai, but the nearest sake brewery by a straight line from where the vegetables were produced is Ofuku Sake Brewery.
This brewery is located near the former Yamakoshi Village in present-day Nagaoka City.
The brewery also produces a brand of sake called "Yamakoshi," which is brewed from rice grown in the terraced rice paddies of Yamakoshi.
The price is reasonable.
The brewery is also known for its "Echigo kuragen direct shipment raw" and "Houjou tamaguchi raw" 😅.
This is a light, umaguchi raw sake 👍.
Good morning, Mr. Hiraccio 😊.
Yes, it's true. I'm also having trouble with a lot of alcoholic beverages here that seem to be limited and have very attractive wording on every single one of them 😅.
Good morning, Jurian 😊.
Yes, that's right😅.
I don't think the wording is particularly appealing to those who don't normally drink sake, but it resonates with those who are somewhat familiar with it, and I couldn't resist picking it up👍.
I thought I was going to get a "kerfuffle" after drinking so much, but it's 19 degrees alcohol! I read the description carefully and found out that it is recommended to drink it on the rocks. I've already drank a lot of it straight and it's delicious, so it's perfectly fine straight 😏 I now understand that that's what a sake should be like.
I am glad that it is 300ml. I bought the Ofuku Masamune drinking comparison set, so I'm looking forward to the other two!
The taste is quite robust but not difficult to drink, and the flavor is deep. I personally prefer something a little more fruity, but I like this more robust type as well because it gives me the feeling of enjoying sake!
Very inexpensive, yet delicious! It has a very good balance of umami and spiciness, and goes down a treat. Mr. Brewer, the price is too good for this taste.
Spring is a fun time with more and more new sake coming out❗.
In fact, this is the first time I have seen this brand.
I had an image of it as a rough and tumble sake, but it was surprisingly well put together, and the sweetness was expected to come on strong, but I thought it had an interesting finish with a sharpness that held back the sweetness, or a finish that was more dry.
I remember that the legendary Niigata brewery is good at making light, refreshing wines 🎵.
Well, it was a good encounter 😋.
The season and the drink were a bit spring-like...
The first sip... I had never tasted anything like it, but I gradually got used to it and found it easy to drink.
With a quick Friday night meal (Izakaya style).
It has a freshness and richness that is typical of undiluted sake.
It's a great way to start the day.
I'm glad tomorrow is my day off.
Tomorrow is also the final of the rugby university championships 🏉, I will watch the game on TV, but I am looking forward to the day😌.
The Ofuku Sake Brewery is located in Nagaoka City, near the entrance to Yamakoshi Village.
There is also a brand called "Yamakoshi" brewed with Gohyakumangoku, which is grown under contract in the terraced rice fields of Yamakoshi.
Ofuku Masamune Yamakoshi no Sato
The famous Nishikigoi and the hornbill of the cow in Yamakoshi of Nagaoka.
I want to be blessed.
I get it by the connection of "Fuku" from "Fuku-gao".
This is one of the gifts for the 2021 Sake Country Niigata Day.
Sake from Nagaoka, where the water and rice are good.
It has a mild aroma and no peculiarities.
The aroma of the rice is rich and full.
It is light and dry with a clean and clear taste.
The gap with the power of the cow.
Like a beautiful Nishikigoi swimming in clean water.
Clear flavor.
