We decided on Viridian for our second bottle of 2023. It is a gorgeous sake with a slight effervescence, a wood vat aroma, and a fruity aroma like pears or apples. I felt as if I was drinking champagne or white wine. It is the kind of sake that can be enjoyed with a low alcohol content. Shinsei deserves to be number one after all!

After the countdown to the new year, I opened a bottle of my daughter's gift from Kanazawa, a wine with gold leaf, and toasted to the new year. It was easy to drink, and the gold leaves dancing in the wine glass were gorgeous and made me feel like it was going to be a good year.
