Instead of sukiyaki, we got a hotpot: seafood, chicken, meatballs, tofu, konjac noodles, green onions, and plenty of white sand. Hakodate was freezing that day. Let's enjoy delicious sake while poking at the piping hot pot. Naturally, we'll have premium sake here. Nakano Junmai Ginjo Hattanshiki Nama. I'd had pasteurized Hattanshiki before at Sapporo Torin, and Nama at Sapporo Shigi38. Then, a reunion with Nama at Mishina.
It spreads across the palate, ending with a clean finish and a slight bitterness. After New Year's, surrounded by fine sake. The group customers are about to leave. The head chef and the young chef are cleaning up. Once things settle down, maybe we can chat? Details: Rice: 100% Hiroshima-grown Hattanshiki Polishing Ratio: 50% Alcohol Content: 15.5%
Last but not least, it's Erkon-san😊 It's a delicious sake with a sweetness and flavor reminiscent of white peaches, typical of Aiyama, and a well-balanced acidity😊 That's all for today😁 I really hope they get discharged soon😓
A sake with a vibrant aroma and delicious fruity flavor. A light acidity and bitterness linger on the finish, making it well-balanced and easy to drink. It's truly delicious!
Rice: Gohyakumangoku 80%, Yamadanishiki 20% Polishing Ratio: 60% Alcohol Content: 15.5% Last month was the anniversary of my regular liquor store, so I peeked at the shelves thinking they might have something special... What the...?! It's Ninjin's Nama Sake! And they had points too! I couldn't close my gaping mouth and bought it along with Toyohai Rainbow! I've been saving it carefully and never had a chance to drink it. But I'm finally ready to try it! Enough preamble, let's get to it! The aroma of ripe, sweet banana and the fruity, vibrant scent of white peach hit me right away! Does this scent remind you of cold chrysanthemum? A slightly viscous, sweet water, faintly reminiscent of ramune soda, but the fruity sweetness of white peach hits you hard and is incredibly delicious! I'm amazed at how incredibly juicy it is, and that slight bitterness is absolutely perfect—I love it! How wonderful is this slight bitterness and that tiny bit of sharpness! No, no, no, Jikon is just too delicious! Personally, it's as surprising as Juyondai! I think Juyondai and Jikon are revered as rare sakes for good reason. I want to drink it carefully, but it's a nigori sake, so I can't just leave it sitting—I suffer this dilemma. But tonight, thank you for the meal!
Upyōn (Toyohai is the ultimate), good evening! Nikon's Special Junmai Nama Sake~😍 It's delicious, isn't it? Juicy, with a great aroma, and the balance is perfect~😍 I'd love to try Jūyōdai someday too😋
ma-ki-san, good evening! I plan to savor this one over the next couple of days! I've only had one bottle so far, but the Juyondai blew me away! Looking forward to your review!
Nakagawa Hattan Nishiki Nama. Slightly sparkling? A gentle fizz? That kind of mouthfeel— Its drinkability is truly Nakagawa. It's handsome, right? Its drinkability is outstanding. But I prefer the melon aroma of Gakki Masamune. Personal rating: 3.5/5 Would I buy it again? → Maybe next time.
Among all the sake I've tasted, this one surprises with its astonishing clarity—the least "sake-like" of them all. The moment it touched my tongue, I was overwhelmed by its beautiful texture, sliding down my throat as smoothly as water. The calmness unique to pasteurized sake and the elegant, silky sweetness derived from the Aiyama rice blend are simply exquisite.
Mid-palate to finish: As you continue drinking, or as the temperature rises, the hidden strength of the Omachi rice emerges. Despite starting so clear, pleasant "character" and complex umami gradually layer in, revealing a solid backbone as a sake. Overall impression: Beginning with perfect "purity," it leaves behind the characteristic depth of sake by the end. It was a truly dramatic cup, where stillness and movement coexist.
I went back home to drink with my brother, bringing along the rare full bottle of Jikon-kun I received as a gift 🍶—though it's not that far away, really 🚗. This year, our schedules didn't align, so I ended up drinking half alone, only to watch my brother finish it the next day when he came home—what a torture 🤣.
With a production date of August 2024, I was super anxious it might be past its prime, but I gently popped the cork. 🍶 The initial aroma had no signs of aging! ☺️ A gentle, pear-like impression. 🍐 On the palate, a smooth mouthfeel with complex sweetness and that signature Jikon acidity—so good! 😋 Then a subtle bitterness slowly emerges, leaving a lingering umami aftertaste before cleanly fading away 😋😋. Since I had to leave two cups for my brother, I finished it in no time 🤣. When my brother joined us the next day, he kept saying how delicious it was, so I'm glad I let it age ✨. Sieg Jikon❣️
Nao888, good morning! 😃 It's been a while since we saw Rikon-kun! And not just half of him—the whole Rikon‼️ Rikon-kun really did his best, didn't he? 🙌 It just goes to show that good sake tastes delicious no matter when you drink it. 🥰 I'm so glad your brother enjoyed it too—truly wonderful! 💕
Nao888, good evening. Nakono-kun is truly wonderful, isn't he? 😁✨✨ And this time, Lord Nakono—even from the first sip, it stimulates all sorts of taste buds with the best balance. 😍 Your younger brother seemed delighted too—what a splendid New Year's feast it was. 😋
This time of year, nigori sake is especially delicious. I've been wanting to try Jikon's nigori for ages. My wish has finally come true. It's fresh and milky, with banana and sweet rice aromas for a refreshing feel. The mouthfeel is silky and creamy, with rich umami from the rice and natural sweetness, plus Jikon's signature clean acidity and crisp finish. No heaviness lingers. Ahh, bliss.
The night of the Kumamoto trip,
I think I drank at about the 4th party.
I have no memory of it at all 🥹 lol
Miracle that no one remembers the name of the restaurant either 😂.
It must have been delicious for sure! LOL!
Thanks for the food 😋.
