I've been playing around all morning again, so I went the full day sleep route without posting, but I also enjoyed my customary sake time last night!
We opened the bottle with "Tenpyo"!
Maybe it's because it's been so long since the bottle was opened, but it's more rounded than usual, with melon and banana-like sweetness and a beautiful sense of unity.
It has a clear aftertaste, which is a good taste for the opening ✨.
Unusual Kagoshima sake check-in ✅
I didn't know there was a Kagoshima sake and was curious to try it.
Rice-strength sake
Very tasty with sweetness spreading in the mouth.
Tenpyo Junmai Ginjo.
I procured a bottle of Kagoshima sake to bring with me on my return trip to my in-laws' home in Kagoshima. Brewed by Nishi Shuzo, famous for its Hozan series of shochu, Tenpyo is the first Kagoshima sake I have had!
It has a melon- and peach-like top-shelf aroma, and the sweetness of Yamada-Nishiki is brought out well. The creamy, full-bodied flavor comes from the lactic acidity. The aftertaste is taken over by a refreshing acidity and bitterness.
We enjoyed it with grilled bonito and plenty of savory vegetables!

It's been two years since I've seen Kagoshima sake, and it's not easy to find.
The slogan is "the truth of nature,
In a region where shochu (Japanese liquor) dominates the market,
I would like to give my compliments to the brewery's commitment to sake in a region where shochu is the dominant drink.
I would like to drink it again.
Melon-like aroma 🍈.
Light and fresh✨
Slight sweetness matched with rice flavor 👍️
Sourness with a slight bitterness 😖.
A clean aftertaste that disappears quickly 🎵.
First time in Kagoshima Prefecture.
Since we are here, we have not only shochu but also local sake.
It is light, fruity, and acidic.
You can drink it like a white wine.
