Nara's Kitaoka Honten Yatagarasu "Tarusake Kaori-Okori-Okori-Okori-Okoru"
When I was in Nara, I found it for sale at an Aeon, so I bought some to try.
The aroma of the Yoshinosugi cedar taru-shu is very wonderful.
It has two "Masu" (a sake cup) on the top, which means "more and more prosperity". It is a sake for celebration.
I don't usually drink sake that is hi-irin (fire-irrigated), but the taste is not so spicy, but rather refreshing, and the wooden aroma is refreshing and makes the sake very mild when it is drunk with Masu. I would drink quite a bit of this, so I would moderate it a bit. The entrées are bone crackers and Kentucky😊.
Yatagarasu Junmai Ginjo
At the usual excellent yakitori restaurant*.
This sake is from Nara. I think it is classified as a so-called "fresh sake".
It is dry but has a good sense of richness. It has a good aroma of rice.
It is delicious without much of a tangy taste.
It has a nice sharpness and goes very well with liver*.
The full-bodied taste may be due to the Kame-no-o.
I bought it at the AEON Liquor & Beauty Kawanishi store in front of Kawanishi Noseguchi station. The only one of its kind? It seems to be the only AEON store that specializes in liquor, beauty, and medical care. I think they decided to make it a special type of store to avoid competition from the AEON supermarket next door.
There are many local sake breweries in the neighborhood, such as Laematsu, Hakusetsu, and Hanagoromo. Hanagoromo and Shiromatsu are commissioned breweries, though...
The rice is Kinuhikari and the sake level is said to be -18.
The aroma is not very impressive. When you drink it, it is sweet and has a gentle touch, probably because of the low alcohol content. The sweetness is like candy. I thought it would be more refreshing, but despite the low alcohol content, it is very drinkable. It is an interesting sake.
It's sweet, but not too sweet. It's not refined.
I think it would be easier to drink at room temperature.
Sake at Yoshino, Nara.
It was a little early for the cherry blossoms to be in full bloom, but the Yatagarasu nigori sake was very delicious while viewing the cherry blossoms.
I'll make love to you, I'll drink it at home, it's a gift from my friend who went to Nara to climb a mountain ⛰! Yatagarasu no sakamai gin no sato!
As the name suggests, it is light and a little sweet, with a sake and rice feel, and it is delicious! 🙏
Nara Sake Drinking Contest
Let's start from the right.
The aroma is faint, with a soft attack.
The taste is clear and dry, and it goes in easily.
There is a lingering aftertaste.
We tasted some sake made from Yoshino cedar.
It has a wonderful aroma of cedar.
The sake is a little dry, but it is easy to drink and gives a refreshing impression.
It smells like disinfectant, which doesn't give a good impression, but it's slightly sweet, light and easy to drink for its strength. A little banana-like. It also has a fruity taste, which is unusual for a brewed beer.
This is the first time I've seen Yatagarasu nama-shu, which I thought you could only buy in Nara. I wonder if coarse filtration means it's lightly filtered?
The disinfectant-like nuance was only present right after opening the bottle, but eased after that.
Purchased at Coop when Dr. Nagasaki visited.
The first day I opened the package, I was not feeling well and the taste was strong, but after the second day, it was easy to drink.
