Today's first drink
Today I had a drink with a college classmate who commutes from Utsunomiya to Tokyo on the bullet train 🚄 We usually drink in Kamata near his work, but this time we went to Sake Kozo in Kawasaki✨.
Cost Sake Kozo transfers the sake into small bottles to keep it in good condition, but I wanted to see the bottles too so I took a picture of the empty bottles too 🥰.
The sake we drank was a special order of Atago no Matsuri, which is available at Cost Sake Kura's group.
It has a fruity aroma and a gentle mouthfeel. In the mouth, it has a moderate sweetness, a clean umami flavor, and a citrus-like acidity that slowly builds up.
Overall, a refreshing sake with a sweet umami aftertaste, which was also good♪
Hiya Oroshi is a good choice.
It has a refreshing taste with sweetness and umami, and is well-balanced with just the right amount of bitterness.

The summer sake series continues. I got this shiso maki on a trip to Tohoku. I paired it with a simple, rustic dish of sweet miso wrapped in shiso leaves and deep-fried. The sweetness and slight bitterness of the miso was a nice touch. When paired with sashimi, the flavor of the rice is an endless loop of deliciousness. It was a strange feeling. Is this the ultimate food sake?
This sake is brewed from Hitomebore, the most commonly eaten rice in Miyagi Prefecture. The recent sharp rise in rice prices is a cause for concern.
