The endorsement of Sawanoi is really very accurate. The sake is getting thicker...
I don't get this phrase....
First of all, it's not too thick. But it is rich. And it has a fruity flavor. It has a depth of flavor that makes you think it would go well with anything except, perhaps, western sweets...
I thought my life was turning around after 40, but I guess I'm still in the middle of my summer drinking season...

Sawanoi hiyaoroshi. It's a freshly-pressed one. The aroma is soft and muscat-like. Mmmm, delicious. It has a firm flavor like Junmai Dai-harakuchi, and you can taste the fruitiness after one summer. Apple...pear...banana? It is hard to describe the fruitiness. But it is rich and hiyaoroshi-like, and the purchase of a bottle was a great decision.

Some say that the aroma is not flashy, but rather subdued, and that one cannot expect much freshness, but for me, the fresh aroma exceeded my expectations for hiyaoroshi.
It has a good balance between a calm umami and acidity, and a mild and gentle mouthfeel.
I think it is especially good with boiled fish dishes.
I enjoyed it cold this time, but next time I would like to try it at room temperature or lukewarm.
Another delicious sake I have encountered!
