Junmai Nama-shu (pure rice sake) raw sake purchased on the way home from the recent Ozawa Sake Brewery drinking party. It has a sticky sweet aroma like ripe grapes. The attack has a sweet and sour flavor like grapes. It has a clear and dry finish that suggests the quality of the water. Junmai Nama-shu (pure sake) only available at this time of year.
In general, it may taste a little like wine...but the satisfaction you get from drinking it is that of sake.
Sawanoi's Sasanigori, a deep, deep flavor. The fruity pineapple aroma is very refreshing and pleasant. The mouth has a strong effervescence that seems to burst, and the flavor is full of umami, probably due to the Sasanigori. It has a powerful flavor, but its fruity aroma and strong effervescence make it a dangerous bottle to drink in large gulps. It is already sold out at the brewery's online store. I should have taken better care of it.
Sawanoi Tokubetsu Junmai Narukuchino no Sake. It is very sharp and has a bitterness that spreads quickly. It is a very drinkable sake. I have liked this one for a long time.
Today I attended a sake drinking party at the Ozawa Sake Brewery. It was the first time for me to learn about the culture of "Nomikiri," which is to evaluate sake while it is still maturing. The event was a gorgeous comparison of the well-known Sawanoi sake in the process of maturing and the sake that has already been adjusted to be sold on the market. Four kinds of sake! The price was 5,500 yen, including the tour and meal. That's a bargain! It was not an all-you-can-drink event, but you could drink a little less than 3 gos of sake.
The one that made the biggest impact on me was the Okutama Spring-fermented Dry Sake. This is the only time you can get cheap and tasty Okutama Spring-fermented dry sake in fresh storage at this drinking contest. It has a dangerous alcohol content of 21 degrees. It was surprisingly dry and refreshing like Okutama Spring Water Brewed Dry Sake, but with a strong flavor. We drank it with a few other sakes, but we enjoyed this one to the very end.
The bottom right photo is the drink in question.
The tofu-centered cuisine at Makkagotoya was also very tasty, and we were completely impressed.
I purchased Sawanoi's Sawaoto at the Ome station in town when I went to watch the road race Tama held on Sunday, July 13. Perhaps because it is a draft sake, it was hard to find in the 23 wards of Tokyo, so when I found it in the store, I couldn't help but squeal.
It has a refreshing aroma of grain. It has a refreshing acidity with a hint of sweetness, giving it a light flavor reminiscent of ramune. This is a bottle that I want to drink every year, as it clearly shows the quality of the water from Ontake Valley, where the Ozawa Sake Brewery is located.
I found it on sale at Donki for around 1700 yen per bottle, so I bought it.
I love sake here.
However, I was worried because it was my first time drinking regular sake, but there was no problem at all!
When heated up, the umami flavor expands and it is very tasty.
It has a good balance of sweet and spicy, making it a passable everyday evening sake.
I didn't expect this level of quality from a regular sake. As expected from Sawanoi!
