It has been a while since I have had Wakakoma, but I have a relatively high drinking rate of Ihyakumangoku. I like this one the best. I noticed that the color of the package has changed from brown (chestnut) to yellow. I wonder if they changed the color of the package to yellow because of the banana aroma.
It is very juicy on the first day! I don't remember the fizz, sake, alcohol, and pungency being this strong. The aroma is quite stimulating, and the sake is messy and fun in a good way.
The bitterness is characteristic of this sake, and it starts to appear in the middle of the first half of the bottle. Combined with the acidity, it is like grapefruit.
The taste is similar to that of a dry nigorizumi with a strong flavor. It is like the active muddiness of the moon after the rain...
The second day, it becomes a little milder... After the third day, the goodness of the flirting disappears and the harshness of the alcohol becomes more noticeable...
The banana aroma this time did not remind me of fruit, but was similar to the so-called "magic ink" aroma with a strong alcohol taste.
It was good until the second day, but after that, I felt the taste was a bit harsh, as if I had failed in every food I matched it with - but it was really delicious!
Wakakoma Natsukoma Junmai Unfiltered Nama Sake

Isego Honten
2600 yen
This is the first Wakakoma in a long time. I was attracted to it since my recent visit to Oyama and bought it. The aroma is citrusy and acidic, with grain-like aromas of rice and dumplings. The alcohol level is usually low at 14 degrees, but this season it is 15 degrees. The sourness and bitterness spread gradually. The alcohol and sourness remain in the aftertaste, and it finishes dry and sharp. It is a summer sake to be drunk chilled.
Dear Jay & Nobby, Thank you for your comments. Tochigi sake, there are many breweries in the prefecture and it is very deep. We were very impressed with the selection at Yodogawa Sake Shop and would love to revisit.
Travels in Kesennuma, Part 4
On the second night, we stayed at a hotel in a hurry, and were treated to a dinner by members of the Kesennuma Jinrikisha Wooden Craft Association, who are also friends of ours in the prefecture.
As soon as we arrived at the restaurant, they said, "Come on over and have a drink with Sagi! I rushed to the restaurant and drank three cups of sake! The hot sake was poured into their cups. There was no such thing as an idle beer!
Kesennuma fathers, you must be afraid of them!
It was a very exciting and meaningful time.
Wakakoma's Aizan
It was surprisingly refreshing with a sweet taste.
I think it was surprisingly refreshing.
Thank you very much!
Good evening Colonel Lal 😃.
I like your Kesennuma trip of fishing 🎣 & bonito 🐟 & drinking 🍶 at ☺️ 🤗and your friends' party of hot sake festival 😆Wakakoma-san was in the middle of it! It must have been delicious 😋Doubly so~!
Good evening, J&N!
Freshness is the key to bonito, so it's best to eat it in Kesennuma right after landing 😋 and serve it hot this time of the year! It's too good to be true 😄.
I'll take you on the Colonel's special course, so come to Kesennuma 🤘.
Enchanting fruity aroma like melon 🍈.
The mouthfeel is sizzling & fresh with a touch of astringency: ❗️
This does a good job of not being too sweet 😋.
The light umami that gives a soft and slow impression, and the sharpness that starts to take effect in the mid-palate makes it suitable for a mid-meal drink 👍.
It is a beautiful bottle with a clear and transparent taste from start to finish. ❗️
Delicious 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤
Comparison of 3 kinds of Wakakoma
Not sweet, but not extremely dry either. It has a sharp and clean aftertaste.
There was a taste I recognized, but I couldn't figure out what it was. Later, I read in the description that the sweetness and sourness of Aizan can be felt, so maybe it is a taste of Aizan.
Comparison of 3 kinds of Wakakoma
It's light and easy to drink, but it leaves more aftertaste than the pink one.
I think I like this one the best out of the three.
Comparison of 3 types of Wakakoma
Quite dry. Dry! Sake! It's like sake!
But it has umami? But it has a delicious dry taste!
A little beer-like aftertaste?
Good evening, Mr. Genovy!
I just remembered a recommendation from a coworker of mine and I wanted to compare the drinks!
I don't have the vocabulary, but I hope it will be helpful.
I only know of sake from Tochigi, Senkou or Wakakoma, so I'll refer to Genovy's as well!
