It is a local sake from Tochigi prefecture. It has been a long time since Wakakoma-san. This is the first time for me to taste 70% polished rice. Hmmm. I felt the smell of bran rather than the taste of rice.

On this day, we had a sushi party at a familiar restaurant.
It is usually a Japanese restaurant, but on this day, we enjoyed sushi made by the owner of the restaurant.
The sake was a sharp one.

The first bottle to commemorate the occasion was Wakakoma's Ma Natsunsu, which I had also had in 2020!
Maybe it's because it's been a while, but it felt quite sake-like and heavy 🥲.

I couldn't help but notice the flashy horse label, so I had a glass. I thought it would be pop and easy to drink, but my first impression was that it tasted "incomprehensible" with its guttural rice flavor and dryness...lol.

The rice is 65% milled "Asahi no Yume". It was bred as the successor to "Tsuki no Hikari," Tochigi's recommended rice, which, while resistant to disease, has been described as the cheapest rice in Japan. Named "Asahi no Yume" so that the rice would be as delicious as the "Rising Sun," it is now loved by the people of Tochigi as a delicious rice that receives an A grade for eating quality every year.

As the name suggests, it is a sharp Jungin Unfiltered Nama. It has an aroma of green apple, a mild bitterness, and the deliciousness of Gohyakumangoku, and it finishes well.
The fruity image of Wakakoma is betrayed in a good way. It was immediately consumed with pickles, tofu, and yakitori (grilled chicken). ❣️
