Spoils of a procurement trip to Echigo-Yuzawa, Niigata Prefecture
I forgot to mention that I had purchased it at the Yukiguni Shuho Kanazawa-ya Sake Shop.
Bottled in 2024.04 stated Aizan 100%.
Low fermentation with a low rice polishing ratio of 70% and a soft alcohol content of 13%.
Finished with a single heat-refining of the original sake.
The aroma when the bottle is opened is soft and gorgeous.
In the mouth, a faint sweetness and white wine-like aroma spreads.
After that, a lingering acidity with a delicious flavor slowly lingers on the tongue, while the bitterness from the alcohol spreads and gives a sharp aftertaste. The taste is typical of Yukio.
It is a perfect mid-meal sake with a rounded umami flavor that is not preceded by a strong acidity as is the case with nama-shu.
I see him a lot, but I'm surprised he hasn't been drinking ☃.
The aroma is just a little ☺️
Sharp, pungent and umami ✨.
The aftertaste is crisp and clean 🎵
@Tsumari Sake Miyakoya
A souvenir from a trip to Niigata. Purchased it because it is limited to the prefecture and tastes like white wine.
The sake shop has a nice atmosphere and the staff explained everything in detail. If I have a chance to visit Niigata, I would like to stop by again.
A gift. The first bottle, though the way of receiving is a little peculiar.
It is "Cho-tanrei," which is a rice suited for sake brewing. This is the first time I've heard of it, but it may be the real "light" type. It may be more sweet than umami, but there is no sticky feeling at all. A great aperitif.
It was a weekday, but I couldn't stop myself from opening a bottle of Yukio.
The package is cute, and the 50% daiginjo conveys the deliciousness of the sake.

This is a new product from "Yukio", another brand of Aoki Shuzo, which brews Tsururei.
Due to the recent record-breaking heat wave, the number of small grains of "Koshitanrei" rice suitable for sake brewing has increased. Aoki Sake Brewery, which uses the most Koshitanrei rice in Niigata Prefecture, wondered what it could do to help rice farmers, and the result was Yukio Sake Ale.
Although it cannot claim a specific name like Junmai Daiginjo or Junmai Sake, it is a bottle with a Junmai Daiginjo class aroma and taste with a polish of up to 50%.
Ponshukan, which I have longed to visit (4)
On the last day of my trip to Niigata, I went to Ponshukan in Niigata Prefecture.
There were more people than at Echigo Yuzawa Station💦.
Yukio-san is well-known for his dry sake.
I actually haven't had much of it.
But I love Aizan so I had to try it 😃.
It says it's only available in the prefecture!
The sweetness of Aizan comes at the first sip
But after that, it was very refreshing and clean...
But the sharpness of the taste is also...,
It was not too strong, but balanced and tasty!
It was well balanced and tasty!
Good job, Yukio!
I had a few drinks,
This was my number one drink of the day ✨
(I forgot what the others tasted like so no review 😅)
It was so good I ended up buying some Snowman merchandise 😂.
I bought some snowman stuff 😂.
A snowman carrying skis caught my eye and I bought it.
It seems to be a collaboration label with a ski brand.
The aroma is a little refreshing and crisp. The taste is also refreshing and easy to drink. There is a slight bitterness in the aftertaste, but it is not unpleasant.
It is a bottle with a clear mouthfeel that you will never get tired of.
I'm glad to see so many hits these days!
Personal Satisfaction:★★★★*
