新舘幸樹
Unable to stand the excessive heat, I went to a liquor store in search of a low-alcohol drink. I looked in the fridge and had no idea what I was looking for, so I asked the clerk and this sake came up. It was a new brand to me, but I had already had another brand from this brewery, so I bought it as recommended.
As is typical of Niigata sake, opening the bottle was no problem at all. According to the label on the back, only one bottle per year is brewed during the cold season.
The first sip is a slight sweetness, but that sweetness soon disappears and the spiciness of the royal road comes in. The aftertaste is slightly long, but if you drink it slowly, the initial sweetness will leave your nostrils at the end.
It is not a high-impact sake, but I think it is a dining sake that can be drunk smoothly during this hot season.
