Izakaya Kintetsu Express Hinotori Opening
Two days of sake drinking in Mie are safely over and we are on our way home 😀.
The sake we will have on the Kintetsu train on the way home is Junmai Ginjo by Fukuwagura 😀.
This sake is made by Imuraya, which is famous for azuki products such as azuki bars and other Japanese sweets and ice cream bars.
It is a sweet sake, as you would expect from Imuraya, but it was a delicious sake that did not interfere at all when paired with an assortment of Mie's specialty bento boxes 😀.
I'm glad I was able to end my Mie Prefecture sake trip with this sake 😇.
By the way, the return trip was my first ride on the Kintetsu Limited Express Hinotori 😀.
I had always wanted to take this train at least once, so I was excited and decided to take the premium seats 😀.
The three rows of seats were comfortable with wide space between the seats and a comfortable recline, but... everyone on the train was so quiet that if I made a single noise I would get stared at 🤣.
I promised myself I would never sit in premium seats again😅.
Good evening, Yasube-san!
Your Mie sake brewery tour was a quintessential action: ⤴️
I was able to see a lot of sake from Mie 🎵.
Fukuwagura is a sweet sake, just like I imagined ✨.
I'd like to have a chance to try it 😊.
Good morning, ma-ki-!
I don't think I'll probably ever encounter so many Mie Sake at once, so it was a good experience 😇.
I'm just wondering how to store the sake I'm giving as a gift to myself🤣.
Good morning, Matsuchiyo 😀.
The bento box with an assortment of Mie's specialties was delicious 😃.
I was able to drink quite a bit of Mie sake over the two days, so this amount is enough for a shimei 😇.
Otherwise, I wouldn't be able to go back home 🤣.
Thank you, Yasube!
I was just thinking "I wish I could go on a sake brewery tour of Mie" and my heart rate increased as I read through your comments from the first day💓
I will definitely go 😤.
Good morning, polo 😀
I had a great time touring the sake breweries in Mie with lots of fun discoveries 😇.
There are many major sake breweries, but I recommend small sake breweries 😀.
They are full of the brewery's policy 😇
Thank you for your reply, Yasbay 😊.
I tend to focus on the famous places, but it is fun to be able to directly experience the thoughts of the brewery people.
I will try to make plans to visit during the new sake season 🥰.
Yasbay, here we go too 😊.
Will you ever sit down again 🤣weekday evenings 🚄 are not too noisy as you are all tired from work? I can only hear the sound of you opening a beer😅.
I enjoyed reading your Mie sake trip😊🎶.
Good evening, Pon-chan!
It was so quiet that I was afraid of even the sound of opening the cap of sake or the lid of my lunch box, let alone the sound of opening a beer 🤣.
It's better to relax and enjoy drinking if there is a bit of a buzz 😇.
Fukuwagura Junmai Daiginjo
This is my first visit to Imuraya. Imuraya is known for its meat buns, bean-jam buns, and adzuki bean paste bars. They also make sake.
The aroma is fruity and gorgeous.
It has a bubbly taste with just the right amount of sweetness.
I think it's a royal taste.
It has little bitterness and finishes with a beautiful sweetness. Oishiiiiiiiii😍!
My second son started his exams today and things started to get tense in the house, but I couldn't stop my drinking 😅.
Praying that we'll get through this happily ✨
Hi Jay & Nobby😊.
Fukuwagura, it was very good 🤗 I would like to try the different labels too ❗️
The kids have to do their best for the exams, so the parents just have to try to stay in shape 😖.
Good morning, Takechi 🐥.
It's hard to take the exam 💦 with the flu going around and snow on the ground, it's a bit of a distraction 😰.
It might be better to calm down at least drinking 😊I hope your child can exert his/her strength 🙏.
Hi Pon-chan 😊Actually, my second son had a fever of over 40 degrees Celsius for about 4 days from the 3rd day of the New Year, and I thought it was hopeless 😫 but he is doing his best to recover. He never abstains from alcohol and drinks every night to get the sake gods to support him 😆.
This is the last in the series of this year's (drink), this year's (check in ✅) 🍶 series!
On Christmas Eve, I suddenly had to go on a business trip 😔 to a place in Mie Prefecture.
I was working late at night, so I didn't have a chance to get drunk and enjoy Mie's famous sake 🍶 at a restaurant 🥲.
I got myself together and drank one of the single-bottle bottles of local sake that I had bought as a souvenir.
Fukuwagura Junmai Ginjo.
Fukuwagura is a sake brewed by Imuraya, the maker of azuki bars, meat buns, and bean paste buns.
The appearance is a silvery crystal, almost transparent.
The aroma is sweet yet refreshing.
Melon with citrus nuances and young banana are the main notes.
There is a sense of koji, and the rice aroma is rather rich, like freshly pounded rice cakes.
The first touch is a deep sweetness.
The acidity spreads with a subtle gaseous stimulation, mixing well with the sweetness.
As the refreshing stimulation of the acidity passes from the back of the throat to the nose, the bitterness and slight astringency peek out while the umami is felt from the dark sweetness, and it finishes with the bitterness and astringency.
The lingering aftertaste is long and gentle, with a sense of the release of the stimulation through the nose and the tightening of the bitter astringent taste.
The overall flavor is strong, sweet at the beginning and bittersweet at the end.
I thought it was quite an interesting sake design.
It is a sweet, umami acid for adults, which does not seem to be possible.
Happy New Year, Jive 🐍.
Thanks for working the New Year's Eve shift 🍶.
It was definitely very sweet and strong, so it would be great with anko (red bean paste) or something else. ☺️ If it's summer, an azuki bar would be a good choice!
Thank you again for your support in the new year 🎍.
Imuraya, a confectionery maker famous for its Hokkaido adzuki-bar and taiyaki ice cream, launched Fukuwagura sake in July 2021. Imuraya brews sake rooted in terroir, using smooth water and high-quality sake rice grown in the rich climate of Mie Prefecture. The rice used is "Kami no Ho" produced in Mie Prefecture. The brewing water is a rare, mild, hard water with high calcium content from Matsusaka, Mie Prefecture.
It has a gorgeous aroma like muscat and a refreshing sourness like apples. It has a sharp and deep flavor that harmonizes the mellow aroma and mild mouthfeel.
It is said to be a sake produced by Imuraya, known as the maker of the Adzuki bar. I received it as a souvenir from Mie.
The aroma is full and deep, with a hint of sweetness. It also has a firm freshness.
