Hachimantai City, Iwate Prefecture Wasino-o
Local sake at a roadside station during a trip to Iwate Prefecture.
Sometimes I'm glad to have such encounters
It is rather sharp and drinkable like water. The image is similar to that of Niigata sake. It has a refreshing start, and at the end, it has umami, or the feeling of a rush when you drink alcohol, rather than sweetness. In other words, it's like a cheap cold sake from an izakaya (Japanese-style pub).
No repeat purchase.
On the Shinkansen on the way back from a business trip to Iwate.
It is a very old warehouse, dating back to Bunsei 12.
It is served cold, but has a gentle aroma of rice.
It is aromatic, sweet, and spicy, with a well-balanced rice flavor.
The second is Eagle's Tail.
The second one is Washino-o, which I received at an off-line meeting in Morioka in 2021.
It's been a while since we last met!
This one is also rather similar to the Yaezakura I mentioned earlier.

Iwate Prefecture booth ③.
Hachimantai City's Washio Sake Brewery is a very local sake that is consumed almost exclusively locally.
Washinoo Junmai Ginjo.
The taste is rich and mellow, with a strong sweetness and umami. It is also rich, dark, and delicious. I've been saying that it's so good.
I asked him where I could find it. I asked him, "It is only sold in Iwate, so please come to Iwate to drink sake while visiting the places related to Shohei Otani and Yusei Kikuchi.
Iwate sake is quite strong, and I think I liked it a lot, so I would like to take my time touring Iwate.

Mr. Washio in Hachimantai City
A brand you hear the name but do not see
Rice polishing ratio 40%, Yuzunokou 16%, Sake degree -2, Acidity 1.25

It is a Junmai Daiginjo, but the brewery's policy is to label it as Junmai Ginjo.
Sweet and tasty, juicier than expected.
I'm drinking it thinking it's a regular junmai ginjo without knowing the specs, so this is my impression, but considering the price and specs, it should be delicious!
Purchased at MaxValu near Morioka Station. When I buy at MaxValu, I can ship from the counter inside the store, so if there is a MaxValu at my destination, I will definitely stop by.
The station building at Morioka Station sold a slightly better grade of Washio sake, but I dared to go with the regular sake, as I didn't think regular sake was available outside of the prefecture very often.
I had it at hiya. It is rich but light, clean and easy to drink as is typical of sake from the south. The sweetness and umami of the rice can be felt, but a slight bitterness keeps it all together. It has no peculiarities that would go well with any snacks.
I would like to try other types of sake as well.
