Preferred ★★☆☆☆☆☆☆
The fifth cup of the event.
This sake is made from Miyamanishiki, the standard sake rice of this brewery. There were many varieties, and I was torn between junmai ginjo nama and junmai nama, but I went with the junmai ginjo nama, which has a more robust rice flavor.
It is true that the rice flavor is very strong. It is easy to drink, with a taste that is neither too sweet nor too spicy, but somewhere in the middle.
I had it with soy sauce-based chanko-nabe and takoyaki (octopus dumplings), and it went well with both, so it may not be a good match for many dishes.
The review of the 2nd National Sake Breweries' Sake and Talks @ Kyoto Miyako Messe is now in its finale!
Azumamine Sake Brewery (Shiwa-machi, Shiwa-gun, Iwate Prefecture) was visited by the brewer, Motoi Sato.
He is mabudachi with President Nishikawa and was the toast of this meeting and also (shockingly 😅) served as the toast.
Azumamine Shuzo is the oldest sake brewery in Iwate, founded in 1684 in Shiwa, the birthplace of the Nanbu Toji clan.
The brewery's two brothers work together to brew a full-bodied junmai sake with a rich flavor, "Iwate-feeling sake.
We drank "Azumamine Junmai Ginjyo Miyamanishiki Unfiltered Nama-shu Nakadori Orikawari"!
It is a limited edition sake specially ordered by Koyama Shoten.
It was a sake that brought out all the best of Miyamanishiki, with a beautiful sweetness and a full-bodied flavor with a firm umami.
The lees gave it even more depth and maturity after about a year of production, yet it still had a freshness to it.
The sake is very serious, but the brewer is a very funny guy, and I became a fan at the first meeting. ☺️
When I asked him for his autograph, he wrote "erotic kuramoto" on my autograph.
It was a really great party and I made a lot of drunken memories!
Looking forward to next year😊.
Thanks for the event review, Aladdin 😊.
This makes me want to go! And I'm jealous of your autograph ✨great idea to have it written on your fan 😉.
You have a funny face, Mr. Kuramoto, with funny things to say 😆.
Thank you, Pon 😃.
The Kyo-uchiwa was displayed in the store by NISHIKAWA and sold for sale and recommended for autographs 😊.
I would like to advocate "breweries that make serious sake, tend to have interesting people" as a common brewery experience 😁.
The 2nd National Sake Brewery Sake and Talk Event @ Kyoto Miyako Messe.
This is an annual sake event held by Kyoto's "Sake-taker Nissigawa" in cooperation with Koyama Shoten.
We had a lot of beautiful sake. ☺️
Here is the toast that was served first.
Azumamine sake brewer Azumamine Brewery created this sake for sake drinker Nissigawa as a PB sake for Koyama Shoten.
It is written "Nishi-Komine" (西小嶺), which means "Nishi-Mine" in Japanese.
At the standing tasting event-like venue, we received a cup of this sake at the entrance and took pictures of the sake before the start of the event to get in the mood while suppressing our eagerness to try it 📷
President Nishikawa gave the opening speech, followed immediately by the toast.
The toast was given by Mr. Motoi Sato, the brewer of Azumamine Shuzo.
I was impressed by the subtle atmosphere in the hall as he toasted with his wonderful talk about how a brewer must be honest, mixed with the worst kind of vulgar jokes 😅.
The sake was slightly pale yellow-gold in appearance.
The aroma is mild, but has a legitimate impression of koji sweetness and acidity typical of sake.
The taste is of a type where the sweetness and umami of the rice can be honestly felt, yet it is also very drinkable.
It was well chilled, which made it easy to drink, but I would like to try it heated.
Fruity and fresh aroma 🎵
Soft and fresh taste ✨
Sweet apple-like taste with a slightly bitter aftertaste 🍎.

It will bring you happiness 🎉.
