My first impression was that it was just sweet.
It is the type of sake that is good not as a stand-alone drink but with food.
It is versatile and goes well with kimchi and cheese.
No wonder it is a favorite of chef Mr. Hattori.

I wanted something with more umami than sweetness, so I went for a junmai-shu rather than a ginjo...
It was sweeter than the Miyanoyuki I had earlier.

Irohasu has the flavor of tangerine water, which somehow makes you feel a little drunk after drinking. Slightly honey-colored. It is not viscous at all, but rather smooth.
