A sweet and tasty drink 🍶.
When I say sweet, I don't mean fruity sweetness, but the sweetness of rice 🍚. The more you chew, the sweeter it is.
I don't have to choose what to eat with it.
It went well with all of the side dishes my mom made 😋.
It's like the delicious rice (🍚) became sake (🍶) as it is. Even my granddad (who is quite an old man) drank it, forgetting his age and saying "yummy, yummy" 🤣.
This Sake is bold with a full and soft mouth feel. There is a strong rice flavor, some sweet, with hints of wood and caramel that lasts for a long finish.
This is an interesting Sake for me and a learning experience. 🧐
Sake drunk at an izakaya in Niigata
I had an image of Niigata as having a lot of dry sake, but this one was easy to drink and perfect as a food sake.
However, the level of food in Niigata is very high!
Basically, all the food was delicious!
I went to a liquor store because I wanted a crisp sake since I have been drinking a lot of sweet sake lately.
I had not decided on a brand at all, so I was very confused, but I chose this sake that I saw on Facebook.
Since it is from Niigata, I imagined it would be light and dry, so I bought it.
When I drank it, I was surprised to find that it was ⁉️
It tasted sweet.
I took a second sip, puzzled.
Even though it is a nama-shu, it is a honjozo, so there is a slight aroma of gorgeousness.
First, the sweetness asserts itself. Then, in the middle, there is a spiciness from the bitterness. This pungency is a nice accent.
The characteristic of this sake is that it does not have an alcoholic odor. I think the pungency and other factors contribute to this, but there is no odor. It also leaves a sticky feeling after drinking. It may be a one-size-fits-all sake. I think it just happened to be the one for my mood today.
This time, I bought a four-pack bottle. The price of less than 1,300 yen including tax is one of its charms.
