We purchased this wine at Tachihara Sake Shop in Joetsu City last fall. First prize in the International Wine Challenge SAKE category - Honjozo It has a sweet, mild umami taste with a surprisingly dry aftertaste. We had it with Kurose yellowtail sashimi from a nearby supermarket that serves great fish, and a 7-Eleven squid and cucumber with a deliciously spicy sauce 😃.

I bought a bottle six months ago at Ponshukan in cocolo at Echigo Yuzawa station. It is mildly dry and does not interfere with meals. Sushi and Sanriku sardine karaage at the supermarket, both were discount stickers! Thanks for a good week!
