Happy New Year!
I was making my New Year's rounds in Joetsu, where I have many relatives, but because of what happened last year, I took the wheel as a driver this year and could not drink.
But thankfully, I received sake to drink after I returned home. The osechi was delicious!
Katafune Junmai Sake!
In the Joetsu area of Niigata, there are many sweet sake, and this Katafune also believes in a rich, mellow, umami taste, so you can enjoy the flavor of the rice, which is dark and deep.
The aroma is usually mild,
Slightly sweet fruitiness,
The mouthfeel is smooth and silky.
The taste is sweet and slightly acidic, with a full-bodied umami.
It has a full-bodied umami flavor with a nice sharpness.
The sweetness is enhanced when heated,
It is soft and mellow,
The acidity and astringency are well balanced,
The taste is elegant and delicious,
It is so good that you want another cup immediately.
Delicious!

Kinekomama, I wish you a happy new year again: 🙇🏻🙇🏻♀️
It's sad that we don't have any sake for the New Year's visit, but it's nice to relax at home with some souvenir sake 🤗.
I have an image that Niigata is dry 🤔Joetsu is a sweet type of sake! I'm learning a lot 😊.

Jay & Nobby, once again, I wish you a good year! 🍶✨The Joetsu area has long been known for its sweet and delicious sake, with Yukinakubai as a representative. Chiyonomikari, Kenshin, Myokozan, and more recently, Sakekou. Other regions are also increasing the number of sweet sake.
