This is the second bottle in the Ishikawa sake drinking comparison set. Despite the classic label, it has an impressive ginjo aroma with just the right amount of ginjo flavor.
It is refreshing on the palate and seems to go well with all kinds of food and as an everyday sake.
I tried to find detailed information about this sake on the Shikano Sake Brewery's website, but to my surprise, it was not even listed on the official website. Is it only available in the local area?
Personally, I love old-fashioned "regular" sake brands, so this was one that really stuck out to me.
I came to Kanazawa!
I knew I wanted to try some local sake, so I started drinking sake from noon (or to be more precise, from the morning since I received it on the bullet train)!
I wanted to drink with dashi, so I chose a dry sake that I was attracted to among those recommended for dashi!
Maybe the first time I drink it? Tokigen!
Spicy, but maybe not so easy to drink? I felt right at home with the idea that this is the kind of sake that goes well with dashiwari!
Junmai Daiginjo is best served cold. Hot sake is also delicious with an added sweetness. It may not be the way to go, but I like to pair it with okonomiyaki.
Moriguchi Keihan Department Store Sake Festival (7)
From the label I saw, I didn't think it was Tokigen.
It's a summer sake, so it's refreshing, but there was a hint of mild sweetness.
It was a summer sake, so it was refreshing, but had a hint of mild sweetness, but the pace of the tasting was too fast and I was rushing.
I had a very tasty Honjozo of Tsunekigen before, and I only have an image of Masurao. I think he was a toji under the tutelage of Mr. Naohiko Noguchi.
Keihan Department Store Sake Festival (7)
There was a summer sake from Tsunekigen, which I had a good impression of after drinking it in the past, so I tried it.
Well, maybe it was the order in which I drank them?
I had an image of a refreshing yet sweet sake, but it didn't leave the same impression as the past...
I felt that I was in trouble because they kept pouring more and more drinks in this booth, and I asked Nemuchi if it was okay to drink more. I asked Mr. Nemuchi if I could finish my drink and he said yes, so I decided to move on to the next booth 😁.
Good evening, Ponchan 😃.
I'm not finished with my drink and I'm standing by for the next one, so the pace is fast 💦😅.
I appreciate your generosity in letting me sample the drinks 🤔...
This Junmai Daiginjo was made for export. It is not a typical fruity daiginjo, but has a robust flavor like yamahai. According to the brewer's description, it is recommended to be served hot or topped up with sake, so next time I would like to try it hot.
