This is a junmai nigori sake that is said to have been drunk by Shingen Takeda and Kenshin Uesugi to relieve the fatigue of battle during the Battle of Kawanakajima.
It has a creamy texture like makgeolli, but with the umami and sharpness of rice.

It has been a long time since I blew it. It was a year ago, but it was fine. It's very fresh.
Calpis soda for adults. It's very easy to drink and not like sake. 300ml of 12 degrees is very gentle.
Today, we went to Kairikiya near Yamaoka family at my daughter's request. It seems to be a Kyoto-style restaurant. I had the Kujo-negi ramen noodles with a set of fried rice because it had a lot of fat on the back. I regret that I added gyoza (Chinese dumplings) because they were half price.

Kawanakajima's nigori sake is something I want to drink at least once a year.
You can usually find it at Kinokuniya inside the southeast ticket gates of JR Shinjuku Station.
Unlike the fruity and flowing image of Genmai, this nigori sake has a hard-edgedness that could be called the original basic form of this brewery: dark, tasty, dry, and sharp.
Even if you don't start with the supernatant a little bit at a time, it is a nigori with a lot of density.
Serve with hot tofu, chilled tomatoes, and fried oysters.

I can't connect this bottle with Kawanakajima 😅I also can't connect the taste from the appearance and texture 🤣I'm also a bit of a bitter person 😅I drank it at room temperature the next day instead of keeping it in the fridge and it was surprisingly mellow 😉.

The spoils of my trip to Nagano. I could not find Kawanakajima Genmu, so I bought this one, which was sold at Nagano station.
In my mind, nigori often has a sweet taste of rice, but this one was more of a clean dry taste and thicker than sweet. I warmed it up and drank it, and I was right👍.
