This is a limited edition sake purchased at the Kikusui Sake Brewery in Niigata, which we visited after booking a tour of the brewery during the Obon holidays. It is a rare sake that can only be purchased at the brewery and filled into bottles on the spot. There were two types of sake sold in this style, and I was allowed to taste them, but since I was the driver, I left it up to my wife. Both of us prefer fruity sake, but both of them seemed to be dry. We were forced to choose one of them and decided to take this one home.
How did it taste? It has a mild mouthfeel with a strong umami and a hint of sweetness. The aftertaste is refreshing. The alcohol content is high at 21% (Kikusui's sake is generally high), so I switched to drinking it on the rocks after one sip. Personally, I liked it better on the rocks. I remember how much I enjoyed the explanation by the researcher who navigated us through the brewery tour. Thank you very much, sister!
Delicious Junmai Daiginjo from Kikusui brewery. It has a fruity note yet dry finishing. Lovely drink to pair with roasted chicken and Spanish Iberico ham.
Cold: Surprisingly mild aroma, but quite intense sweetness and flavor. An exquisite line that does not become an unpleasant peculiarity.
The exact opposite of the impression of so-called daiginjos.
Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the release of Funaguchi.
About 400 yen per can
It tastes sweet but like regular honjozo. A zingy sweetness. I thought this is a heated sake.
Not the type of sake to drink cold 🤔.
It's a pain to heat it up, so maybe I'll drink it at room temperature again.
I'm not sure if it's actually heated once, but I'm not sure.
I wonder if it's hard to drink it at room temperature because it has a strong sweetness, but it has a strong alcoholic taste.
It's just a coincidence, but I've been drinking only Kikusui 🙄.
I'm waiting for another bottle (can?). I'm waiting for Kikusui😅
I happened to see this at the supermarket today! If it says "Shiboritate Nama-no-Mazake" on the label, you just have to buy it, right?
The aroma is banana! It's fruity 😊As you drink it, the sweetness gives way to umami, with a hint of sourness and bitterness, giving it the robustness that is typical of nama-nazake! It has a lingering aftertaste, but it has a good sharpness. Delicious 😄The level of cup sake is getting better and better!
Good evening, Mr. Sashiu😄!
I went to the supermarket the next day and bought it after seeing this review by Sashiu 🤣.
If it's fruity, it seems easy to drink 😋.
Hi Tsubu, I'm so sorry to hear that! Were you looking for Dora 😄 I happened to find it and bought it 😄 I was surprised at the level of fruity and cup liquor there! It was delicious!
Aroma of rice and alcohol
Aroma of rice and alcohol
Slightly "oops
Soft mouthfeel
The sweetness comes out in full force.
I think it's easy to drink.
Alcohol is high, so drink it slowly.
I bought it because of the design of the can.
Last week on the 26th, Izakaya Shinkansen on the way back from Niigata Station.
Recently released Kikusui shiboritate junmai nama sake.
Kikusui has the legendary Funaguchi Kikusui can, which may be milder than that.
I tasted the non light nigori Ryoufu at an event at Keihan Department Store, and I've seen it at department stores and supermarkets, but this is the first time I've seen it. The official website says it is only available at stores that carry it, but according to the nuance of the official X, it seems to be distributed only at Aeon 🤔.
I bought it because I thought it looked unusual. It's sweet and sour, apple-like, and refreshing. I've tasted the regular Ryoufu before, but I think I like the light nigori better.
It's a little alu-ish from the second half, and that makes it feel spicy.
Like a dry apple? I think it's a little bit spicy.
Kikusui Shuzo's newest 🍶.
The slightly subdued fruity aroma, the perfect balance of acidity and umami after a refreshing first impression, and the lingering aftertaste that slowly disappears, making it delicious all the way to the end. Banana nuance.
Purchased at a local supermarket.
Aromatic fluffy rice aroma, yet soft.
It is aromatic and dry, but also has a fresh sweetness.
It is a sake that makes you feel warm and fuzzy.
The first sake to be drunk at home in a while is a new product from Kikusui Shuzo: Shiboritate junmai nama sake. Kikusui Funaguchi has been a long seller for over 50 years, but this is an unlikely junmai sake in an aluminum can. It starts out with a bang, but it blends well with food and is well-balanced. You will finish a can in no time. If I had stopped here, I would have had the right amount.
They recommend pairing it with Chinese food. It seems to go well with dumplings.
New aluminum canned sake from Kikusui, Japan's largest producer of nama-shu! Beautiful green color of freshly squeezed junmai namaishu!
Looks delicious already!
It seems to have been on sale since September 12, but I finally saw it at a store (supermarket) and bought it immediately!
When I opened the can, the fruity and gorgeous aroma spread out,
I thought it came in smooth.
Fresh and rich!
Well-balanced sweetness and acidity.
Full-bodied rice, full-bodied flavor,
The alcohol taste is very strong and satisfying.
It has a nice sharpness that quickly fades away,
What can I say, it's super delicious!
