I didn't drink it myself today, as it was my sobriety day.
Instead, I selected this bottle for my father-in-law.
Kikusui Dry (recommended by the brewer).
A crisp, light and dry sake from Niigata. It is crisp and clean at room temperature.
It is a classic type that is perfect for an evening drink at home. The specs are as follows.
👩🦰 My wife gave it a 9: "It's good."
👨🦳 Father-in-law gave it 8-9 points: "On a scale of good to excellent, it's excellent.
I see. ......
My father-in-law, who has been drinking sake for decades, and my wife, who has enjoyed it with him, prefer it.
It is different from the "gassy" and "umami" type sake that I have been drinking,
It was a bottle that made us realize once again that it is a royal road of "light and dry" + "aruzome" + "good taste at room temperature".
Red
It's true! I can see why this one is more expensive!
Maybe it's dense! It has a slight sweetness to it, too!
Not as upper jaw as the fruity one!
It's slightly sweet and easy to drink! I can feel the spiciness on my upper jaw though!
Ta-girl*. + I didn't have an image of 🌙cup sake 😁Kikusui Funaguchi series, I like the green can of new rice new sake the best because it's fruity ✨If you see it, please do 👍.
Yellow.
I understand the description of this one as "fruity"!
It's a one-cup, so it has a refreshing taste, but the Ozeki one-cup I just had was much more refreshing and spicy!
I wonder if this one has a softness in the mouth and then spreads?
I can tell it's fruity even when I go back to it!
I get drunk after half a cup, so I have a little bit every day and am almost finished with it. It was delicious!
A friend recommended heating sake, so I think I'll try heating it up at the end.
The moment I put it in my mouth, there was a spiciness from the alcohol, and at first I didn't feel any sweetness, but after a little over a month, I started to feel the sweetness.
It's interesting how the same sake can be perceived differently depending on your physical condition and food.
Since it is called "dry," it seemed to have a bit of a lingering aftertaste. Personally, I like dry sake, so it was to my liking, but it was not as deep as I would have liked, and it went down easily.
It is easy to drink, which may be one of my favorites in the market.
The top aroma was of pure rice and brown rice. When it was drunk, it had a dry taste with a full-bodied, rich, slightly astringent flavor. The overt aroma had a fruity feel. The alcohol content was strong at 19%, and the can said that it could be drunk on the rocks, so I tried it on the rocks. I think it is best to drink it on the rocks while eating.
It went well with Hotto Motto's Katsu-don (pork cutlet served on top of a bowl of rice) and petit puff pastry.
Niigata rice
Polishing ratio 70%.
Alcohol 19%.
